We recently stopped here for lunch while waiting for a tour at the Vatican. Two sandwiches, one medium beer and one large beer came to 58 euros!! Did not order from a menu, we were just told to order our sandwiches at the counter. Server asked what size beers we wanted...had NO idea that a large beer would be 20... More

Four of us arrived at the stairs adjacent to the Caffe, waiting for our Viator tours of the Vatican to start. This was the only restaurant on the street. We were hot and hungry, and had time for lunch. We should've known when we asked for menus and our incredibly charming waiter said "I am your menu!" that it was... More

I asked for tap water and was given a bottle. I said I wanted tap water and waiter said 'no charge'. Bill came €4 - waiter no where to be seen. No menu just pictures. Was told kebab was chicken. There was chicken in it but mostly cheap gritty sausage. Presented nicely but waiters surly - over priced even given... More

We went to the Vatican on Saturday 30 September. Scorching hot so we wanted to wait a few for our tour to start. To top it off not only was it hot but we desperately needed to use the toilets and we decided to have a a gelato and a water. No menu in sight and we sit down and... More

We should've known when he wouldnt present us with a menu and just quoted what they had. We were starving and waiting for a tour nearby so for one slice of pizza, a tuna sandwhich (all which was crappy!!) and a soda and an iced tea it was 50 Euro (or $75!!!!!). We sat there in shock!! Don't eat at... More

Went in for a quick sandwich lunch before a time slot at the vatican museum after a long walk from the station.. The food was surprisingly good, but of course eyewateringly expensive, because of it's position. Service was poor tho the waiters were all pleasant-they were very busy and of course more interested in selling wine than bringing us water... More

BEWARE: we had 4 of us sit here after visiting the Vatican museum. 3 of us ate, 1 didn't and thankfully they didn't as the 3 of us who did all got food poisoning which reuined our last day in Rome. So disappointed. And what makes it worse is that they charged us a ridiculous amount ($8euro per cappuchino &... More

After a two hour queue in the sun and an hour and a half tour of the Vatican museums and Sistine Chapel. We strolled innocently into the Caffe Vaticano. But how we wished we hadn't. Two salads, two chicken sandwiches, an ice cream, a diet coke and a beer cost €111.00. The service was fast and the head waiter was... More

My wife and I had lunch here prior to meeting our tour guide for the Vatican. Given the position (across the road from the Vatican Museum entrance) I expected it to be ordinary and expensive. We decided to eat there anyway just for convenience. Our food was fantastic and not that expensive - but my wife had a "small" bottle... More

We sat down and were not served for 5 minutes, then my sister got up and went to look at the self service section. A waiter was helping her and eventually we moved to a table where he served us. We were four adults and the food was great BUT when you pay over 100 euros for four people and... More
