We were only looking for something light near our hotel and came upon La Matriciana. We were able to sit outside. We has prosecco with prosciutto and melon, arugala salad w/ seared scallops and tomatoes, simple spaghetti w/ tomato basil sauce and amazing panna cotta for dessert. We were able to share everything and it was just perfect. We tried... More

We stayed nearby and walked past this restaurant most days. In Rome there are plenty of restaurants where you may eat pizza pasta etc if you want something less mass produced then I recommend la Matriciana. It was a bit expensive but well worth the spend. We felt special and were treated with great courtesy by a lovely waiter (sorry... More

I treated myself one night to dinner here, and then Swan Lake Ballet at the opera across the street. The food was very good, pretty upscale restaurant, with great service. No complaints.

This is an old-style Roman restaurant. Do not expect anything fancy but it is truly authentic. Nice location, particularly the terrace in summer time (in front of the Opera Theater). Good selection of wine and pretty much everything in the menu is excellent and authentic. The Bucatini alla Matriciana, however, are absolutely outstanding: the best I have ever had in... More

This is probably our favorite restaurant in Rome. We've been there in 3 different years, starting long ago. It never disappoints, so we dined there twice this summer.. The food is very good, freshly prepared, and served by polite and friendly waiters. This is a white-tablecloth restaurant, but not formidably formal, just dignified in a cheerful way. It's opposite the... More

We had an excellent meal here. It was not cheap but our choices of a number of courses including steak was the reason for this. We had the zucchini and mozzarella starter which was nice followed by a well cooked and presented pasta and then my husband had steak. This was cooked exactly as we asked and how he likes... More
