Every time returning to Rome we also return to "La Matriciana"! Lot's of Romans enjoying their dinner there, it's not touristic at all and always fully booked. We did enjoy it every single time!

We just wished that we ate more here during our 4 day anniversary holiday. We were looking for a non tourist restaurant after spending our previous couple of days eating at average restaurants. We tried on a Saturday but it's closed, then went for lunch Sunday as it was our last day. This is a quite classic restaurant with suited... More

I spent a week-in Rome, was tired of the horrible food in the touristic areas. All restaurants have either far east or Middle eastern.chefs. I checked again and again. Finally i went to an Irish Pub and talked to the owner, who recommended La Matriciana in front of the Rome Opera House. Almost all clients are Italians, which is a... More

The restaurant was close to our hotel and the place looked interesting. Reviews mostly positive especially most recently so we gave it a try. We were not disappointed. We started with artichokes. They weren't on the menu but we asked and they had them. Felt we couldn't leave Rome without having them. Delicious! My wife is gluten free so there... More

This was expensive and the food was not great. Service was not brilliant either. Definitely would not recommend eating here.

Don't miss this restaurant: food is very delicious, service is at the top level! Here you can have lunch, dinner and even breakfast. It's the first time in my life when I feel I should write a feedback, because I was very surprised with the quality of food and service. FWe were 3 people and paid 74-87 euros for all... More

I went here for my birthday. The service was fantastic! The choices for dinner varied with a large menu. Our waiter made a four course pasta tasting at our request. Each course was completely different and equally delicious. The house wine was excellent as well. there is outdoor as well as indoor seating.

This was our favorite restaurant in Rome. The restaurant is lovely, old-fashioned and full of character. The veal chop was the best ever. The oxtails were absolutely incredible. The professional waiters acted as a team and anticipated our every need. They poured a very nice house wine, too.
