Made reservations here for our last night celebration of our stay in Rome. We were not disappointed. Staff was friendly and attentive. The food was excellent as was the wine!

We had an excellent meal here. It was not cheap but our choices of a number of courses including steak was the reason for this. We had the zucchini and mozzarella starter which was nice followed by a well cooked and presented pasta and then my husband had steak. This was cooked exactly as we asked and how he likes... More

Good food (not great, but really good), beautiful rooms, delightful servers! They seemed really happy to see us and took really good care of us!

Stopped in for dinner right when they opened at 7 PM. Very nice decor and professional wait staff. No dress code that I could see (people dining in shorts and tshirts). Had the mozarella and hand-sliced cured ham as a starter (you can view the ham sitting near the restaurant) and a rigatoni with bacon first meal. Both presented beautifully... More

This restaurant was recommended to us by our B&B, Armonia all'Opera, which is right next door. We loved La Matriciana. The food was excellent and we went back twice. I do think one does better eating inside, however, as the outside tables are rather cramped and the location is not very scenic. I am surprised to read the criticisms on... More

Read an earlier post about the indifferent waiters and soon found myself agreeing with it!!! If you sit by the street you can expect around 10 street vendors waiving roses or various other unappealing things at you. I ordered ravioli and a side of hand cut french fries. The ravioli arrived, the French fries didn't, so we chased the waiter... More

Down the street from the hotel after a long walking day, found La Matriciana and loved the food, and the service. Ate there twice actually. Sampled several things, all excellent,....and the signature dish 'Matriciana' was terrific...nothing like what's called by the same name in the US.

Ambiance and staff were very good. Over E70 for 2 appetizers (melon/proscuitto, scallops) and 2 mains (cannelloni.) Food was excellent, especially the cannelloni but we felt it a little expensive for what we got.

We truly enjoyed our delicious dinner inside with excellent service on a beautiful evening in Rome. We started dinner about 8:45pm and discovered many locals in the restaurant. The place was completely full and people were coming in until about 10:00pm. We picked a Winner. We shared a pasta dish as the first course and our own veal main courses.... More

Visited La Matriciana on our last night in Rome based on reviews and proximity to the hotel. The service was wonderful. Our waiter was comical and very attentive. He provided wonderful recommendations for everything. As a table we started with the parma and cheese - it was a very generous portion of both, cut fresh as soon as we ordered... More
