We went to Ciampini's as our special treat when we visited Rome. I recommend visiting at sundown so that you can watch the sunset and view the city lights. It is certainly not cheap, but worth every euro as the quality of the food, atmosphere and service was excellent. I thoroughly recommend.

Visited during our trip to Rome. Restaurant has nice views over Rome-recommend to visit in the evening, when you can see all city lights and Vatican. Dinner was really nice and staff was excellent, friendly and made us feel very welcomed! Food was excellent and served in huge portions. We will visit again :)

First you start with a glass of Franciacorta Saten, then take one or two green olives then sip again... Its like a meditation for your tired feet... One of the places I wont fed up to stop by for a drink and a wonderful evening w my friends. They have good quality of aperitivo foods come along with your fav... More

This seems to be a more popular place for tourists rather than locals, which is not necessarily a bad thing in itself, but it was our most expensive dinner in Rome. There is no house wine, so we went for the cheapest option of a $15 375ml bottle of cabernet. Compared to everywhere else we went where there was a... More

On our family vacation to Italy, we stopped off in Roma and stayed in Trastevere where there is a lot of great food. La Renella and Taglietta in Positano are great, however; they're a very close second to Ciampini! The waiter was great, but he did seem to be busy when we arrived. The food was excellent, the Brasola was... More

We had lunch which was excellent with views over Rome as it is situated at the top of the Spanish Steps, turn left at the top. Not cheap but nevertheless good value.

My companions and I dined at Ciampini near the Spanish Steps on a very hot Roman afternoon in September 2014. We were looking to escape from the heat and the restaurant had a lovely, air-conditioned space as well as well shaded patio dining. The views of the Roman rooftops all the way to St. Peter's alone was worth going to... More

Very good food (typical roman specialties), wonderful views and perfect service - the company of turtles as a bonus :-)
