Throughout my time in Rome I stopped in the gelato stores in the street where the gelato is piled high and brightly colored. Little did I know these were all horrible gelato. I was advised to go to Ciampini for real gelato and my oh my is real gelato as good as they say. Ciampini has few flavors but the... More

We went for gelato and a glass of wine. The gelato was served in luxurious silver cups, and was the best we had in Italy this summer. The wine was accompanied by a complimentary plate of hors d'oeuvres. Just what the doctor ordered. The location and the service was very good giving us a feel of Rome luxury. Ciampini is... More

After miles of hot walking/shopping, we were looking for air conditioning and happened upon Ciampini. We lunched upstairs in the "air conditioning light" with spritzers, pizzas, pasta and salads. Excellent service and food - however the highlight was the miniature ice cream cone found at the bottom of the stairs covered in chocolate and pistachios.....wish I could have gone back... More

Best gelato we had while in Rome. They brought out our chocolate fresh today. So creamy and perfect. Went 3 times during our stay.

I ate a lot of gelato during my 2 weeks vacation in Italy and I would say that Ciampini had one of the best in Rome. They have tables outside to people watch while wile relaxing on a hot day. I did not try the food but based on the dolci.....it's most likely to please the palate!

We had a quick meal while visiting Via del Corso. Very good location on Piazza di San Lorenzo, it has also good service (on Italian standards). A variety of options, salads, pizza, sandwich and traditional Italian antipasti, or coffee and sweet if you prefer, all excellent quality food. We didn't taste the ice cream, but we'll sure be back for... More

Excellent gelato. I don't know anything about the place other than we had excellent gelato. We ranked it tied with Carapina for our favorite (out of Giolitti, Corona, Fatamorgana, and del Teatro).

This place had excellent food and service. We went there for lunch - our pizza and dessert were both excellent and the service was attentive and polite. Beautiful location - highly recommend.

During one week holiday in Rome, we came here...3 times for dinner! Excellent service - very quick, attentive and friendly. Make sure you order drink with "aperitivo" - nice selection of small snacks, great value for money.

Staying in Campo Marzio

Neighborhood Profile
Campo Marzio
From its original role as ancient army training fields to its present-day identity as one of the city’s most desirable neighborhoods, the Campo Marzio is the best place to get lost in Rome. Gorgeous Renaissance and Baroque palazzos line the streets, and are filled with enticing boutiques and food shops. By day, Rome’s best-dressed denizens criss-cross its streets in a fashionable parade of errands, occasionally pausing to look fabulous in gorgeous piazzas like San Lorenzo in Lucina. Campo Marzio can be a bit of a sleeper after aperitivi hour (9pm), so visit by day and experience the pulse of daytime Rome.
