very good typically italian (pasta-) food

you need to try the homemade pasta - very good and typically italian. This is not a very touristic area so you find a lot of local people there. Staff could be a bit more friendly and welcome to the guest.

I had the best risotto of my life here. Walnuts, gorgonzola and pear, it was melt in the mouth and great value. Sadly they really were unappreciative of me and my friends not being locals, one of my group is Italian and understood everything they were saying about us to the other clients. We were made to feel so very... More

Not upscale, and actually super-inexpensive, and the food was superb, as was the house white wine. I had a perfect trofiette Genovese al pesto, small twisted pasta with just the right amount of salt, garlic and basil pesto. Went home grinning from ear to ear!

We arrived late into Rome and this was the closest place to where we were staying and was recommended by the host we were staying with. The pizzas were very good and contrary to what other reviewers have put, the staff were great! Their English was limited but the English menu helped bridge the gap. Only gave 4 stars because... A nice place to eat, and the food was good. Maybe not the smallest and most romantic restaurant in Rome. But a good place to go if you want a good meal. The pizza was very good!

The restaurant is near a Mercure hotel and tempts to visit, but do not do it. If you do it will be the worst experinece from Rome, not for meal, which is pretty average, but because of the bad owner behaviour. He even tried to charge us about 20 euro more than we ordered. I repeate, do not visit this... More

We did not experience any of the rudeness reported by others. It is busy and popular, with many locals enjoying the fare. It fills up most evenings from 8pm and like us you may get quizzed as to whether you have booked. Pizzas all seemed good (c7-8E) and there are also a range of pastas. Service quick. Wine drinkable at... More

Went to Pepe Verde with a group of friends, the staff were rude and unaccomodating when we ordered - we couldn't have been more polite. The food came out staggered, two of my friends food came out as half the size of a normal meal with double the price of everyone else's! My food never came. Meanwhile the Italian people... More

We were excited to visit this restaurant after a few good reviews however this night proved to be more than dissapointing. The staff were rude and inefficient and more than one of our groups meals was forgotten. When the food itself did arrive it was badly cooked and overpriced in terms of quality and portions. We felt that we had... More

From the off set the staff was horribly rude to us. We ordered our food and when it came it was the smallest portion and we had to order more coming to a grand total of €18 for a tiny salad and a few strips of beef. Two of my friends order did not even come and they were forgotten... More
