We were staying near the Trevi Fountain area, and pretty much walked by Giolitti every night after dinner wether we were having gelato or not. Just loved the whole feel of the place. The gelato is great, even though the process of getting it isn't ideal - it's usually packed and you need to wait 5 or so minutes whilst... More

I don't feel the name ice cream does this monster justice. Probably the best I've ever bought. For €3.50 the "medium" is a bargain. You get three enormous scoops of ice cream topped with (optional) whipped cream and it is delicious. I just wish I'd found it sooner in my holiday. Only negative is the lack of napkins as it... More

We felt very rushed when we went. It was one of the first ice cream shops we went too. We had no idea we had to purchase first and then order. You purchase your cone and take the ticket to the ice cream counter. When you hand your ticket to the server you better have a good idea of what... More

Unlike so many places you read about, then try, only to be disappointed after believing all the hype, the gelato was fantastic! The grapefruit was the biggest surprise, truly wonderful!

I've been to a few gelato places in Rome, this place I heard was the oldest so that's why I decided to give it a try. I was impressed with the variety of choices but the service could be better. There was a gelato serving person who was clearly agitated and was yelling at everyone to move over so other... More

Wonderful gelato. Canoles and rum cake. One can understand why they have been in business for over a century.

It is the oldest ice cream cafe in Rome and is a must visit place. They have a lot of flavours and you can either select a cup or cone and some condiments. You can find there some rare flavours like Baileys, which I personally tried and it was amazing. In fact, all flavours we have tried were very rich... More

Cinnamon is a thing from heaven, but other flavours are not as tasty and, they melt in just three minutes!! Superfast! Long queue, be advised!

Giolitti was a nice change from walk-in gelaterie. We enjoyed the ice cream and the atmosphere. Make sure to browse the ice cream case before you sit down so you can make an informed choice when the waiter arrives!

Ice Cream to die for! Busy and crowded, not much time to choose, very reasonably priced for the portion size. Eat quickly or be covered in melted ice cream
