Icecream heaven

There's ice cream and then there's ICE CREAM. Fantastic. So many flavours and not too expensive, 2.50 euros for 2 generous scoops. Last day asked kids what they wanted to see/do again........ Giolitti! That's kids for you, although I didn't mind. Barrack Obama's daughters even visited during a G8... read more

Well what a selection and what a taste - despite the rather cold outside temperatures a must for anybody visiting the eternal city. So tasty and a fab choice. Before going though familiarise yourself with the ticketing system, which is somewhat of a challenge if explained by one of the non-English speaking staff :-)

Absolutely terrific gelatto. There was like 30 different flavors, each looking better than the last. Seating seemed to be reserved for people who buy something else though.

Giolitti has a lot of different flavors available for a good price. In my cone, the flavors all mixed together, which was a little disappointing. Also, the employee put a massive amount of whipped cream on top which took away from the flavor. A really nice place though.

As suggested in my traveling guide as "a must have gelato while in Rome" ended up being more of "a must avoid place while in Rome". I entered an overly-touristy, crazy-chaotic place yet, I was willing to do the line, pay and get a number with my receipt. So I got the receipt and just followed where everyone was going... More

We tend to attempt to find the non-touristy locations when it comes to food. But, we made an exception for this place. Gelato was creamy and great flavor. As others have noted, you buy a ticket from the cashier & then head to the gelato line. Although the line seems long it moves quickly.

We have sampled a number of gelato shops in Rome but none compare to Giolitti. The flavour and texture of their creamy product is incredible. After purchasing your serving ticket at the store front, make your way to the back counters and be prepared to agonize over the dozens and dozens of choices while staff push clients into decisions. It... More

I have been to this place three times, and at every time I enjoyed the ice cream tremendously. Go there and you won't regret it. For ice cream lovers, it is your place.

We were a group of 6 people and wanted a quick bite, feeling somewhat tired and thirsty after our morning excursion to the Colosseum and Piazza Navona. This gelateria is located in one of the backstreets and they have an excellent range of confectionery as well. They are quite busy so we had to queue up to buy our stuff but... More
