According to some locals that recommended me, they said it is one of the best. Well, I do like it very much. And being a highly recommended place and has a lot of history, needless to say, queue sometimes can be long, and staff may seem somewhat rude or abrupt (or tired of answering same questions all the time). But... More

Having not known the whole story behind this place when we went, I have to say I completely don't get it. The venue is not particularly special (though it is probably as old as they say). You are not permitted to sit inside with "just" a gelato even though its empty. Queues are long, gelato is average, staff is pretty... More

The oldest place for gelato in Rome and arguably the best. Tourists and locals both go here. It's relatively cheap and located right next to Pantheon.

Probably my favorite Gelato in Rome! Their homemade whipped cream is wonderful! This is one of the oldest icecream shops in Rome, and the interior reflects its old world charm. Just a short walk away from the pantheon...

The oldest ice cream parlor in Rome, Italy. My 1st cone in Italy. Love it to the max. A MUST-VISIT when you're in Rome.

What to say about Giolitti: Avoid the queues at the register and the ice-cream counter, treat yourself to a sit-down ice-cream or cake or coffee. All excellent. Very expensive, but also extremely good.

Although the place is in the heart of touristic Area of Rome, it is worth getting inside! They serve fresh and very good ice cream, one of the best in town I would say!

In our opinion this was the best (and cheapest) Gelato in Rome and is well worth a visit. We took a 20 minute stroll here after our dinner and it was well worth it - so much so that we visited again the next day!

Saw an article on this place in a travel mag and after seeing some reviews here on TA I was prepared for good gelato and not such great service. I have to say, it really depends on who works behind the counter that day. On our first visit the older Italian gentleman was so grumpy - I totally knew how... More

We had heard great things about the ice cream so on our latest visit to Rome we decided to give it a try and were not impressed. Actually the very mixed reviews on this site do a good job in this case. The service was poor, straight faced - what do you want attitude. The ice cream was by Italian... More
