They serve you great gelato. I think I tasted some artificial flavour, though. It is crowded and clerks were unkind. You can visit here if you are a busy traveller. Here is my piece of advice: Visit one in Testaccio and taste real gelato if you are a real foodie.

The oldest and most famous gelato shop in Rome. It’s consistently crowded and tourists and locals alike who claim it still the best gelato in town. They are known for their wide variety of flavors made of their secret recipes including some interesting seasonal ones. The counter is constantly packed so you almost have to fight for the staff’s attention... More

It's located close to the Spanish Steps and has real gelato. Not the commercial stuff normally seen around tourist sites. Choose one flavor and ask them to choose the others which best complements it. Don't forget the dollop of free fresh cream.

We loved the place and was our last stop of the night for at least 6 of the 9 nights we were in rome. Our go to was the picolino coconut. I tried different flavors and loved them all. We would forego dessert at restaurants in order to have this amazingly creamy gelato.

Giolitti was recommended to us. The place took some finding but it was well worth it.The ice creams are some of the finest we have tasted. A brilliant place. Highly recommended.

I am full of sadness as I write this review because I know that Giolitti is thousands of miles away and I can't just walk to it whenever a craving hits as I did while I was in Roma. After seeing this place listed in numerous 'Best Gelato in Rome' lists, I had to give it a try. I was... More

I've had ice cream and gelatto all over the world, and this experience stands out as the best of all of them. From the amazing selection of flavors to the classiness of the establishment, this is a place I simply would not miss while in Rome. It's really not too far of a walk from the Pantheon. Even the Pope... More

If you are going to Rome, don't come back without tasting some delicious ice-cream. Giolitti is one of the best and most famous place to go and try different kinds of ice-cream in Rome. I strongly recommend to try the one with dark chocolate. Enjoy!
