When you are in Rome, you must try the gelato and we went to Giolitti because of all the reviews. It was good but not "Outstanding" to lead you come back again. I must say Vancouver has better Gelato.

During our 8 day trip to Rome we went to over a dozen locations for Gelato - hands down Giolitti was the best. 100% natural ingredients and over 150 years of experience definitely show! The inside is also absolutely lovely to look at with such a gorgeous display of Italian pastries and treats that it is hard to choose just... More

Went there in April 2014, after many many people had recommended me to try them. Rome is full of ice cream shops and Giolitti is always the one to visit. So I went. Paid my ice cream and got it. The stuff at the bar were great, fun and enthusiastic, and the taste of their ice creams is certainly unique... More

I don't miss an opportunity to stop in for a gelato here whenever I'm in Rome. My anticipation grows and mounts as I think about it. It's a wonderful shoppe decorated with lots of wonderful treats. Only complaint is they don't allow patrons to sit and waiters are rather aggressive! There was ample seating when I was there and it... More

We went on a walking tour of Rome and went to this place to get gelato. The guide taught us to go and pay first and you then get a ticket to show to get a gelato. Small size is huge with 2 flavours for $2.50 euro !! There are crowds of people but our guide says no lines. Just... More

Giolitti was always my favorite place for ice cream. I returned after a several year absence and was disappointed. Nothing changed. Same atmosphere, etc. That's okay with me. There were endless lines at the cash register with only one cashier. I returned when it was emptier and ordered my favorite. It was good but not as good as I remembered.

The variety of flavours is simply amazing and I wished I had space in the tummy for everything. The staff were friendly and patient while I had a hard time deciding on what I wanted. This was in spite the long queue behind me. I was so impressed that I went back to Giolitti 3 times during the time I... More

Third time in Rome. Many stops at dozens of gelaterias but still love this place. One night we went to the seating area and ordered some special gelato treats and the fantastic hot chocolate.

Those who praise this gelatteria and make long lines in winter ans well in summer to eat gelato here do not know the real taste of the thing, or compare it with what they had back home. To summarize, it is cheaper, portions are more generous, the service more quicker than in other places less famous in Rome, but the... More
