Fun!

With all the hype and rage we to had to go to Giolitti. The place had a large selections of ice creams to choose from and I ended up with a scoop of vanilla and one of the Nutella (was not my most favorited Nutella of all time, very dense). Overall experience.... Very good because what can ruin... read more

My expectations were very high as I was told it was the best ice cream in Rome. Ice cream was good but not extraordinary. I've had much better.

Great place to eat gelatto. Worth the wait , despite the huge line for ordering , definitely it was a great experience!!!

This is probably the one place in Rome that I will return to over and over again. The long line can go by quickly because they offer free wifi. The gelato is delicious. Gotta try the limoncello. Service is good too

Tried it twice and while good we found others like the one across from the Hitel Ponte Sisto has more unusual flavors and better flavor intensity.

We are probably gelato snobs, but Giolotti deserves its famous reputation. Delicious gelato at acceptable prices, with many flavor choices. We also liked the classy atmosphere. Short version: go there!

La Principessa of Gelatarias in Rome! Maybe impossible to get a bad gelato in Rome...so don't sweat this one. Though so HOT in Rome right now it was Granita that soothed our parched throats and they serve the real deal here - wonderful flavors including the typical, lemon, melon and exotic like fig, blackberry and peach. If you love Hawaiian... More

From a quiet side street you'll find this amazing, over a hundred years old cafe, where they serve the best gelato in the whole wide world! I had apple-cinnamon and the apple has actually small bites of apple in it, and cinnamon.. well you gotta love that combination! We visited there twice, but next time in Rome, we'll go there... Theres chock full of desserts outside of gelato which is a sight to see. As for the gelato itself, theres many selections and some nice variety to go along with it. The gelato is pretty creamy and flavorful without overpowering. You should try it out.

An ideal place for either a nice cold beer or a multi flavoured ice cream. The staff told us that President Obama stopped here and enjoyed a gelato. No doubt he didn't queue.

Staying in Colonna

Neighborhood Profile
Colonna
Frantic fashionistas, pedicured politicos, goal-oriented tourists, and on-the-go locals cross paths every day in Colonna, a delightful chaos in the very center of the city. Even though it has some of the city’s loveliest sites—a 2nd century column, Belle Epoque shopping center, and a magnificent Baroque parliament building—Colonna is not just another pretty face, but the cosmopolitan eye of Rome’s cultural storm. Colonna can safely say it has the best of Rome: museums, boutiques, window displays, restaurants, cafes, and people watching.
