Good food; failed to meet the anticipation though

This resto was highly recommended and the reviews were pretty positive. Good was good, tables a bit cramped, service good. But given the reviews we were expecting something great. Clearly reviews are perspective driven. Try it out but no need to go out of your way

No reservation? No problem if you arrive when they open. Wine selection emphasizes regional and national choices. Antipasti is fresh and reflects seasonal availability. One of the members of our party loved the tripe and complimented the chef profusely. Yes, we'd return, but there are many wonderful choices in Rome. Pasta with clams was nicely prepared. We skipped dessert because... More

Great restaurant with reasonable prices. Great service from the waiters and owner. Everything we ate was excellent. Antipasto. Primi. Secondari and desert. The waiter brought out many free offerings from the kitchen and topped it off with Limongello with dessert. East slowly and be prepared to be stuffed when you walk out the door. All of our pasta dishes were... More

Try it. Really good food and very friendly people. We went several times and it was always excellent. The best carciofi alla giudia!! Try the "maialino", it's almost perfect. Before you go, make a reservation because it's always full.

Our hotel suggested this restaurant and we couldn't be more pleased. Thank goodness we were the first to arrive and seated for dinner as it filled up soon enough. There were many tourists but this restaurant seemed to be frequented by locals alike. The staff was warm and friendly, the place cozy and best of all food was excellent. We... More

We enjoyed lunch here and it was really great. Personel is very friendly. Prices are OK. Nice local wines. We've got a free spaghetti carbonara just to taste. Also italians at a nearby table offered us wine and food to taste. For me a champion in basic simple food! Next time certainly stop here again.

When in Rome we always do have dinner at the Hosteria Romana, Via del Boccacio 1, Roma. Advice, do make a reservation, because it is a very popular restaurant. Over the years the food remains delicious. I have read on some reviews that the pasta was not al dente, but overcooked. I can't imagine. Do order a fresh fish and... More

Saw that the reviews of this place were very good the three of us thought we would try it out.. Service was lovely, drinks were enjoyed but the meal was not what we expected... Our pasta was not cooked "al dente" and the bacon/pristutto did not go well with the dish. We were expecting a creamy carbonarra but got two... More

One of the best meals we had in Rome. The steak was done to perfection. The pasta was great. Try the gnocchi - I personally recommend it. The owner was friendly despite the big crowd for lunch and had time to talk to us. Even the bottled water, he opens it in front of the customer. I was so confidence... More

Neighborhood Profile
Trevi
A non-stop photo and souvenir opportunity, Trevi is all about action. From early morning through the wee hours, the piazza surrounding Trevi Fountain hosts a never-ending flow of tourists hoping to make a wish or take a selfie. Clever restaurants, charming gelaterias, uncanny bars, kitsch shops, and a range of hotels make up the local landscape. Beneath the bustle are the remains of an ancient neighborhood that you can visit by heading over to a repertoire cinema and asking for a peek underground. There is something for everyone, but if peace and quiet are what you seek, plan to visit in the early morning hours.
