We enjoyed lunch here and it was really great. Personel is very friendly. Prices are OK. Nice local wines. We've got a free spaghetti carbonara just to taste. Also italians at a nearby table offered us wine and food to taste. For me a champion in basic simple food! Next time certainly stop here again.

When in Rome we always do have dinner at the Hosteria Romana, Via del Boccacio 1, Roma. Advice, do make a reservation, because it is a very popular restaurant. Over the years the food remains delicious. I have read on some reviews that the pasta was not al dente, but overcooked. I can't imagine. Do order a fresh fish and... More

Saw that the reviews of this place were very good the three of us thought we would try it out.. Service was lovely, drinks were enjoyed but the meal was not what we expected... Our pasta was not cooked "al dente" and the bacon/pristutto did not go well with the dish. We were expecting a creamy carbonarra but got two... More

One of the best meals we had in Rome. The steak was done to perfection. The pasta was great. Try the gnocchi - I personally recommend it. The owner was friendly despite the big crowd for lunch and had time to talk to us. Even the bottled water, he opens it in front of the customer. I was so confidence... More

This Restaurant came highly recommended and did not disappoint You will need to reserve a table at least a day in advance as just turning up on the night or at lunchtime it is unlikely that a table will be available Dining is very intimate with other customers as the restaurant is long and narrow. Food is all excellant

This was our absolute favorite meal in Rome! Even though at the time their gnocchi were not on the menu, I asked and was served a bowl of the most amazing gorgonzola gnocchi that I have ever eaten in my life. The antipasti was amazing, fresh, and displayed beautifully in the front of this very simple restaurant. Our service was... More

We told the Florintina we wanted a traditional meal and she was right on. This was a great Roman meal with great service at a very reasonable price. Seemed to be full of locals and they never seemed to stop coming. Decent wine selection. Well worth a visit to dine with the Romans.

I had one of the best meals that I have ever had at this restaurant. It is small with great food, great service, and a welcoming atmosphere. We were not rushed, even though on this Friday night, there was a line of about 20 people waiting outside. It was worth the wait to them. I know why!!! There were three... More

We've been visiting this restaurant for over a dozen years and it remains the most wonderful for traditional Roman cooking. We often begin with a dozen or more antipasti (the Carciofi Guidica is perfect), followed by their not to be surpassed Spaghetti Carbonara. There is simply nothing like it in the world. Over the years I've also had excellent Ossobucco,... More
