We had decided to try Hostaria Romana as our favourite Colline Emiliane, which is round the corner, is closed for July and August for refurbishment this year. We went to Hostaria at around 5:30 pm on Wed 9th July to book a table for 8pm that evening. We were told that it is not possible to choose your time as... More

Decided on Hostaria Romana after reading reviews and getting an additional recommendation from the hotel. We were very pleased. Truly a local spot, but some of us tourists are finding it. We tried two different pasta dishes--cacio a pepe and gnocchi with tomato sauce--veal saltimbuco and a filet. All were delicious. The waiter and owner were very attentive and helpful.... More

This is where Romans go to eat. Service was great, food was fresh and excellent. Get reservations since it is a tiny restaurant. Prices were reasonable especially for Rome. Highly recommend.

A recommendation from the concierge at our hotel and this one was right down the street. Very popular and a jewel-box of a restaurant. Our server was friendly and efficient--another evening of spectacular cuisine and relaxation. Highly recommend to anyone who would like this type of experience.

We went there by recomendation from our hotel s owner. We didnt have reservation but got lucky to find a table. We had the carbonara spagetti And lamb. Both very delicious. We also ordered red house wine that was good, too. At the end we ordered half tiramisu, half cheesecake, i liked the tiramisu better. We paid in total around45... More

Right off the bat, I have to confess that the food was good - not great. The standout here is the friendly and competent service. We ordered the antipasti platter [a very good sampler but the mozzarella is not top shelf]. Also ordered; mixed meats entre, baked baby lamb, ox tail and the signature suckling pig. The oxtail was prepared... More

Short and sweet, THIS IS THE REAL DEAL in classic Rome dining and perfect if you are visiting from out of town. Simple, fresh, regional cuisine prepared perfectly, presented in a friendly way, and at a reasonable price. Lunch crowd this day was 50/50 Italian and tourist and a very large (maybe 20) group of Italians, aged child to adult... More

We went to the Hostaria Romana on the advice of an Italian friend. We were exhausted when we arrived, at the end of a long day after the flight to get to Rome from Canada. I think we'd been awake for most of 32 hours. We had no reservation, which the staff very promptly and generously made their problem, rather... More

This is a must for truely Roman Food. Its a quirky little place and not much to look at from the outside but the food and service is amazing, really! Make sure to book though as people queue dow nth street for a table. The Carbonara, a true Roman dish, is exceptional, you wont taste anything like it anywhere else.... More
