This tiny little place serves Rome's best food - PERIOD. The prices are way reasonable, too. I can't begin to rave about the food - it's all good, folks. The house wine is delicious. The spaghetti is incredible - rich, chunky sauce with lots of olive oil and oregano, thick pancetta and chunks of onion. The filet is tender, juicy... more

A friend & his wife who make frequent trips to Rome recommended this restaurant to us & we are glad they did. It is a small place on a side street. We would not have found it on our own. We ordered the house red wine while we looked over the menu. This was recommended by a tripadvisor reviewer...good. We... more

We just got back from Rome and re-visiting this great Trattoria, located at 34-35 Via degli Avignonesi. Saving the resturant's business card for 6 years, this time I returned with my wife and we both loved our 3 visits there during our 4 day stay in Rome! This restaurant offers great Italian food, very nice sized portions, all fairly priced... more

We stumbled into this restaurant by accident at the end of our stay. We had been to numerous other restaurants both family run and 4 starred (which were excellent) but this by far took the 'tourist trap' to another level. It was a hustle right from the time they took our order for drinks as the waiter tried to force... more

We managed to find this restaurant again after a trip 2 years ago - we didn't have a note of the name. Excellent as before, efficient, fairly priced, friendly staff. more

We stumbled upon Gioia Mia by chance but had a delicious meal. The restaurant was busy with several tables of local families. The staff looked after us well and the food was good value. more

October, 2008 A real Italian dining experience. Food was great, waiter very helpful with suggestions. Price was not unreasonable. The recommended ravioli with vodka sauce was excellent, the lamb osso bucco style superb and a spaghetti dish was found to be very tasty. more

Authentic Italian food cooked in a wood oven. We were in Rome for a week and went here twice for lunch. The first time we had excellent pizza, then we went back for pasta and a roast lamb dish. Delicious. It is a casual bistro with checkered table cloths. Fills up with locals at lunchtime. The house red wine is... more

Finally we have found a reasonable priced restaurant in the neighbourhood of our hotel in Rome. The Gioia Mia. Good (real) Italian cuisine, prices are normal and especially NO surprises on the check, like as in many other restaurants in Rome ! Not a fancy restaurant, but good seating and service ! highly recommended ! Beware for restaurants between Pantheon... more
