Go with the seafood dishes.

This was our second visit here in two years and it didn't disappoint. We did start with the hand carved ham but then moved on to the seafood which is what they do so wonderfully. I had the spaghetti with sea urchin roe and the monkfish cheeks as my second course. My wife had the pasta with monkfish... read more

Enjoyed my meal immensely - the white truffle pasta makes me drool just thinking of it now. And the fritto misto was awesome as an app. The place just had a staff a bit unfriendly and push us next to people even though no one was in the restaurant at the moment. That said the food out ways that by... More

I sometimes wonder what people's food standards are..and specially now when you can see people's reviews on a regular base T A. My expectations were high as I walked in to la Gensola with my family tonight, specially after reading the reviews. We shared a ceviche that was not a crevice at all besides missing the coriander that was...The sword... More

Our family thoroughly enjoyed our last night in Rome at Gensola! The restaurant is in beautiful Trestavera, an easy walk or short cab ride from the city center. The restaurant is a cozy, neighborhood restaurant that families or couples can enjoy. Our seafood was fresh and expertly prepared and our service was excellent, attending our table only when needed. Really great food menu! Even though it was mostly seafood I decided to go for rigatoni al sugo alla coda alla vaccinara as primo and trippa alla romana after:it was just perfect! A bit more expensive that the other restaurant in the area but it's defenetly worth it!!!highly recommended!

Recommended by our Hotel, we took a cab but he dropped us in a square and it took us 10 minutes to find the restaurant. Food was good in particular the boiled octopus which was silky soft and tasted superb.

We tried this place on our last night in Rome. The food was delicious and the prices were affordable! We also got a carafe of table wine which was just as delicious as some of the more expensive bottles we'd been trying. We were staying right around the corner so it was convenient for us, but I would definitely recommend... More

Not cheap. For two starters and two mains plus a bottle of wine and bottle of water €135. Starters cuttle fish tender and scallops 4 good size. Had a shared main of fish with razor shells etc in sea food broth. Food vas very nice and served well. Wine was nice but not as good as AK bar! Staff were... More

I didn't know this was a seafood restaurant until I came here to leave a review. I've been here about 3 times, and each time the food/service/ambiance were exceptional. The scallops with cuttlefish ink are probably the best scallops I've ever had. It's a place I'll definitely go back to the next time I'm in Rome. Make sure you call... More
