When in Rome .....!

This place really symbolises the meaning of the well known refrain.. When in Rome !! It is a little different in that you don't get the usual menu ,instead the waiter gives you a choice of 4 or 5 starters and 4 or 5 main courses and a dessert for a fixed price of €25. The place was full of... read more

we were possibly the only tourists in the restaurant that evening. The food was very good (four courses) and the staff was very friendly. You get a fixed menu (with choices) for 25 euros per person. We had a great time in this cute Osteria! :)

Friendly staff in very busy restaurant. Set menu was very limited for vegetarians. Meatballs not very tasty. Felt rushed. Food was pretty basic for the price. Overall was an interesting experience but have had better food elsewhere in Rome.

Rustic place that serves local tradional food as tonnarelli caccio e pepe and coda alla vaccinara. Good value for money since there is a fix menu for dinner. The price is 25 euro which includes a selection of starters, 2 main dishes with sides and dessert!!!

This is a great little spot. Classic tavern, nothing too sexy, but definitely a very welcoming locals' hang out. The setting is a rugby theme (maybe the owner played). While I was there, the tavern had a €25 meal that is great for an American and it appeared the locals were eating the same. The staff have a great sense... More

We found this restaurant in the Lonely Planet Guide and although a fair walk decided to try it. Liked the idea that it would be full of locals as opposed to tourists. One female member of staff was good and spoke good English but the other staff were rude and clearly wanted us out as quick as possible. I appreciate... More

While walking around to get acquainted with the neighbourhood our rental apartment was located (not far from the Vatican), we noticed this closed (during the day) Osteria. Some days passed...and when 2 friends from London flew over for the weekend...we went searching for a place for dinner that's not touristy. We recalled this osteria, look a chance and went by... We found the guide in the DK pocketguide of Rome. The restaurant offers a daily menu with limited choice of dishes, we know this concept and like it as we experienced it at various restaurants and Agriturismi in Italy. The antipasti was reasonable but very basic (everyone can make it). The other three courses were dissapointing. Besides, the waiters were... More

My Rome travel book recommended this trattoria, so a few of us went here for lunch on a Friday. There were tables available when we arrived at about 12:30, but it filled up with mostly tourists and some locals. We were impressed by the atmosphere and decor. There is no menu. The paper table mat listed the prices - 7€... More
