My daughter wanted to eat here because of the ruins of Pompey's Forum that it's built upon. There were very few customers when we arrived, so they were going to seat us upstairs, but my daughter specifically asked if we could be seated in the basement among the ruins. They were hesitant at first, but then agreed. It really is... More

This was one of our stops during our food tour. We liked it so we came back the next day. Amazing history and archaeological findings downstairs. The fettuccini pasta with mushrooms was amazing. Price is reasonable. Steak was okay, bit chewy but nice peppercorn sauce. Restaurant is very busy esp. outside as everyone wants to sit outside. Definitely recommended. Thank... More

I was nicely welcomed as the palce was still empty. Unfortunately, after a while and more guests coming in I became invisible. I ordered a glass of red wine and the waiter emptied the little bit in the bottle in my glas. He told me that he will top it up - but obviously forgot (not nice if you pay... More

Good Roman food in a building that is over the ruins of Pompey's 1st century BC theater. You can eat in the basement among the ruins. Food was outstanding and they put up with a fussy 9 month old baby. Very nice place for either lunch or dinner.

We arrived for dinner after reading the reviews. The place was empty and we were the only customers all evening. Actually, it already says it all about the kitchen and the variety and freshness which prepare the food. It was cold. Very cold and not made anyeffort to warm it despite our request. The food was simple and totally not... More

The resturant is situated in a great area near the Campo di Fiori. The menu is vast, the food and service is good. The place is build in the old ruins of the Pompey Theatre. The staff will offer a leaflet with the details of the ruins.

The menu is nice, food is good, service is good, location is convenient to many Rome attractions. However, the best part of this restaurant is the basement. There is a stair well going down to the basement near the restrooms. Down there are ruins. We had lunch here with our tour guide and while the food was being prepared she... More

Da Pancrazio is an old established restaurant built over the ruins of the Theatre of Pompey with its own tiny museum down in the vaults. It is exactly four paces across from the door of the apartment we stayed in, and on the only wet night we had in Rome, it was an obvious choice for dinner! We had no... More

Not only does this restaurant have authentic archeological ruins the food is great. We found this place in 2001 and return every time we come back to Rome. A little off the Campo di Fiori square makes for a quiet lunch or dinner.
