Another good Steve's recommendation

We followed many of Rick Steve's recommendations and, like all the others, this was very good. Great location just off Campo di Fiori with good service and food.

Although others have highly rated this restaurant, my friends & I found it to be the biggest disappointment of the week. We travel frequently to Italy, speak Italian and are respectful diners who spend generously on our food and wine. We chose to sit outside and enjoy the balmy evening so maybe guests outside routinely get forgotten. We certainly did.... More

I cant begin to say enough great things about this place- the service was great, the atmosphere is even better, and the food was the best. I am a complete foodie and I would eat here every day and twice on Sunday if I lived in Roma. When, not if, you go you must sit downstairs, so very cool. Highly... More

We went there with wife sister in law, her partner and small daughter. Very nice and attentive welcoming staff, very accommodating, even to prepare an off the menu meal for the kid. Food was great, very well prepared sea food and the speciality vegetables are to be tasted. Location is great and quiet, the ruins and underground cava are incredible.... More

We were taken here on our food tour as one of the stops and the food was absolutely amazing. The restaurant itself is built on top of the ruins of Pompei Forum and luckily we were able to be seated in the basement where a lot of the relics were on show. The area is Campo de' Fiori in Piazza... More

While touring Rome we stopped in for lunch one day, unaware of the rich history lying beneath the restaurant. The food was really good, the wait staff very attentive, the wine choices were great, dessert was decadent and oh so sweet.....but the highlight of our day came when the proprietor allowed our tour guide to take us into the basement... My daughter wanted to eat here because of the ruins of Pompey's Forum that it's built upon. There were very few customers when we arrived, so they were going to seat us upstairs, but my daughter specifically asked if we could be seated in the basement among the ruins. They were hesitant at first, but then agreed. It really is... More

This was one of our stops during our food tour. We liked it so we came back the next day. Amazing history and archaeological findings downstairs. The fettuccini pasta with mushrooms was amazing. Price is reasonable. Steak was okay, bit chewy but nice peppercorn sauce. Restaurant is very busy esp. outside as everyone wants to sit outside. Definitely recommended. Thank... More

I was nicely welcomed as the palce was still empty. Unfortunately, after a while and more guests coming in I became invisible. I ordered a glass of red wine and the waiter emptied the little bit in the bottle in my glas. He told me that he will top it up - but obviously forgot (not nice if you pay... More

Good Roman food in a building that is over the ruins of Pompey's 1st century BC theater. You can eat in the basement among the ruins. Food was outstanding and they put up with a fussy 9 month old baby. Very nice place for either lunch or dinner.
