Fantastic risotto! Don´t miss this gem.

If the kitchen produces incredible food... and the wine goes well with it.... does it matter if the place looks average (therefore only 3 out of 5 dots) and the service is a bit on the slow side? Our good man here is alone to serve everyone, but does it well. We will be back, next time in Rome... read more

We just had an excellent meal from the price fixe menu. I had the bucatini con cacio e pepe followed by a lovely bit of lamb, my friend had spaghetti bolognese followed by grilled turkey. All dishes were excellent. If we'd strayed from those options I can see how it wouldn't have been a good value. They employ a common... More

This is not a good solution, if you have opportunity choose another place. The menu is quite complicated, and the service isn't good. They serve me a Bootle of water without references and opened.

We arrived at our nearby hotel at 2230 on a Saturday night and the Lupa was the nearest place for a meal. A seat on a small terrace, a shared plate of antipasti, a plate of penne, a plate of sphagettii, a liter of house red and some water all for 40 E. It hit the spot. Cheerful quick and... More

This was a great place to eat. The owner was very pleasant and took great care of us. The service was great and the food was some of the best during our 2 weeks in Italy.

They served us half cooked pasta and a cold lasagna, not a good start. I complained about the lasagna and reminded them after about 10 minutes that I wanted to have my food - after another 10 minutes I got it back all soggy and tasteless after way too long in the microwave. By then everyone else had finished. The... More

We went there last weekend and we had a very romantic dinner. Food is excellent and for very reasonable prices you can experience topical local plates. Best trippa alla Romans in town and good wine too. Excellent service, definitely we recommend to stop there!

We had such excellent food in the restaurant. For a small team of people the service was better than at some other restaurants we hit. We especially enjoyed the oxtail and the spaghetti, and the waiter's recommendations were delicious. The atmosphere is very friendly and casual, and if you happen to ask the waiter for the "best gelato or ice... More

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
