Excellent food

Went here twice because the food was so good. It's not cheap but it's good value considering the quality. The service was a bit slow when it got busy, but the food was worth the wait. Highly recommend the lobster pasta!

During our visit to Rome we went there twice, simply because it was that good. The food was not the typical italian food, it was more fusion kitchen with some asian influences as well. I loved the food and the service. The owner was so kind, nothing was too much. He helped us to choose our dishes and gave us... More

We discovered Matermatuta last year only by accident. The hotel we were staying in recommended it so we decided to give it a shot. And we've been going there ever since! Whenever in Rome, for a long weekend or whatever the occasion, we make sure to eat at least twice there. In only one word: amazing!!! The restaurant, the staff,... More

Most interesting menu and wonderful presentation. Attentive service as well. Italian but way beyond traditional. The Asian inspired tuna appetizer was incredible. Gnocchi and monk fish..vast wine selection. Don't miss it. I hope to go again if I am ever in Rome again!

This place rocks! Love the copper pipes and white walls and mood lighting. The fennel mango salad was very large and very tasty. And the duck was also large, satisfying and very good. The tiramisu in a red can is very cute and delicious alongside a glass of vin santo. This is a very excellent Rome restaurant with a mix... More

We came across this place by accident having not seen it right next to our hotel. The food was excellent. We both had scallops to start with 3 different dips. My partner had the fillet beef which was the best he has ever had and I had the sea bass with asparagus, again the best I've ever had. For dessert... More

On our last night in Rome we wanted to try something other than standard pizza or pasta places and stumbled on this gem. Beautiful inside with fantastic attentive but not overbearing service. Starters were delicious (scallops with 3 sauces, and stuffed mullet with cheese and peppers); pasta was the real highlight though with stunning lobster linguine and gnocchi with clams... More
