This restaurant was recommended by our hotel nearby. At first we didn't have any expectations because it was late upon our arrival in Rome, and we expected just to fill ourselves up. We ordered 3 mains to share for 2 people. We had the lobster pasta, ravioli and beef fillet. Everything was delicious, except the beef fillet was definately the... More

My parents decided to take their 3 boys and wife's to Italy for their 50th wedding anniversary, so I was given the task of setting up dinner for us to say thank you for our trip, and to celebrate the reason we are here in Italy. I searched many restaurants and the reviews were all good so I gave the... More

My husband and I have now been in Italy for almost three weeks and last night wanted to try a meal other than Italian so we went to this restaurant because it served Mediterranean food and some trip advisor reviewers had described the place as romantic. My husband had the misto salad and the tuna, which he liked although the... More

First day in Rome...strolled around the city whole day long. Did not want to eat (like usual when we travel) in a touristic-minded restaurant and thus were looking for a nice local place. We.habe not been deceived! Wonderfully fresh and nice fish. The meat very well cooked. Wine choice very nice. Service very good with very friendly waiters!! A must... More

Fortunately, we got a recommendation from a local resident to eat at Matermatuta! We absolutely loved it. The owner is a gregarious young man who clearly enjoys entertaining his guests with delicious food and wine. We were a party of seven and they sat us in a private room that was perfect for us. The food was fantastic and the... More

Go go go go!!! The best meal we had in Italy after many very excellent meals and one of my top 10 meals ever. A very good value if you enjoy well-prepared food (you'd pay a LOT more elsewhere). Life-altering gnocchi with truffles and clams, delicious seared tuna, excellent 18 euro bottle of wine recommended by incredibly nice waiter (I... More

The restaurant was as good as others have said. Food was fantastic and a welcome change from pizza and pasta (not that there's anything wrong with lots of both!). Prices are very reasonable for the type of restaurant. Great service. Highly recommended. And it's open in August!

I can't rate this restaurant highly enough! The food was incredible, the service was attentive and friendly and the restaurant itself was charming! Yes it was the most expensive meal we've had in Rome but my gosh was it worth every penny. Perfectly cooked scallops for starter, one of the best steaks I've ever had and it was about 15oz!... More

Great selection of lovely, incredibly fresh seafood. We had scallops and parmagiana for starters, lobster pasta (with a huge half lobster), gnocchi with truffles and clams, a dessert, coffee and a bottle of prosecco for exactly €100. It felt like really good value, food was lovely and great quality, service was good and overall very satisfied.
