We found this lovely restaurant through our hotel's concierge. It is by far one of the best gourmet sea food restaurant we have ever visited. The octapus, the scalops, the tuna all are amazing!! Beautiful plates and great taste! Its not cheap, (we paid more than 65€ per person with two bottles of wine for four) but it totally worth... More

We chose the seafood platter to share for our main course and it was delicious. Everything was perfectly cooked and the Gavi wine that the waiter recommended complemented it brilliantly. The restaurant is modern and stylish with a great atmosphere and prices are very reasonable for this quality of food.

When I asked hotel front desk if they could recommend a good local restaurant, with no hesitation, they recommended Materatuta. My first impression of Matermatuta was that it's clean, waiter was friendly, atmosphere was simple and calm. As for our experience there, both food and service were excellent. We were impressed by how fresh their ingredients were. Also impressed us... More

We found this restaurant on Trip Advisor when desperate to find somewhere sophisticated, CLEAN and where we could spend an evening sipping wine. Matermatuta was all those things, within walking distance of our hotel we found it both accessible and quaint. The food was excellent, especially the Tiramasu which was the best I've tasted! When the bill came we were... More

We stumbled across this little restaurant on our first night in Rome after a pretty poor pizza which we had to walk off. Looking at the menu we decided to go the following night and wasn't disappointed. The staff were great, really attentive but not intruding and the food was knockout. I had the octopus to start which was amazing... More

We spent the best evening of our Roman holiday at Matermatuta last Friday. From the friendly and attentive service to the freshness of the products and the creativity of the recipes, everything was perfect! Congratulations to the team.

What an amazing place! It is a wine and art restaurant. The owner, Stefano and his wife Valentina are incredible. Every course of of dinner was delicious and outstanding. A bottle of 2009 Amarone was supurb. We had pasta with truffles and crispe lasagna as prima courses were wonderful. Don't miss this special culinary treat.

This restaurant was recommended by our Hotel (Dharma Hotel). we ate here on our first night in Rome, it was very nice. however make sure if you order a meat dish to order some sides, they don't come with them and the waiter didn't mention anything. But with saying that it was the best cooked beef I had had all... More

Great place where we ended up with my business colleagues. Excellent atmosphere, a little too silent, but with great art inside, in all senses, wines wise, food wise, almost experimental psychedelic with the food. The host and staff were great with us, including friends after friends joining us without reservation. Terrific place where to bring a date I would say.... More

I think that says it all. Its difficult to find a quality restaurant that combines sophisticated food and drink with friendly unstuffy informality- here it is and the fact we dined here 3 nights in a row speaks volumes. I really recommend their duck and deserts ( creme brule and sorbets are something else!)
