Great lunch!

We had good service here and loved the atmosphere. It was crowded when we arrived around 2:00 on a Wednesday. There was a large table of maybe 8-10 people right behind us and the tables are close together. We were provided with menus in English and ordered still water, a beer and bottle of wine to... read more

I love this place. I was here in December of 2013 for a dinner I will never forget. We got the seafood platter for two, which had lobster, prawns, and many other kinds of shellfish. The stuffed, handmade pasta was delicious. The waiter let us sample a number of dishes, the most extravagant of which was the fresh pasta with... More

This restaurant is completely overrated. The woman who took care of drinks and bread was just outright rude. The food was ok, but not what people made it out to be. We had better food at other places in Rome.

Le Mani in Pasta was recommended to us by a friend who has lived in Rome twice. We were greeted with free champagne and given various plates of fettuccine to savor. The owner (presumably) was HILARIOUS; he made the dinner unforgettable.

We booked a table for 21.30 one night, duly arrived @ 21.25; they had booked us for the night after by mistake. Not a problem we said, these things happen we will come back tomorrow. Arrived the next evening, was sat down at a small table for two (the tables are very cramped and packed together...but when in Rome...) -... More

Meh. Came here on the recommendation of a friend. Typical roman trattoria, decent food, but nothing special. Wait staff borderline rude, although that may have been due to the sweltering heat (no air conditioning).

We found this restaurant listed in the Lonely Planet guide book so we decided to try it out. We got a table without reservation downstairs in the basement. The service was quite decent but there was one waiter who seemed quite lost at what he was doing (maybe a new employee?) which made things slightly chaotic. However, the food was... More

To sum up: Didn't even get to try the food due to the terribly rushed atmosphere in there and very impolite waiters! We left just paying the water. Due to all the great recommendations we were super excited to find Le Mani in Pasta in Trastevere and as expected there were a couple of people waiting for tables. The first... More

We found the restaurant after seeing a few local people get in, while searching for an open restaurant on Sunday in Trastevere. A bit crammy, but food and service were wonderful. Not being very hungry, we ordered grilled seabass and mixed salad. We got a nice glass of Shapagne and a generous pasta onthe house while waiting. the fish was... More

Let me start by saying the food is great. The best dish by far is raw seabass w truffle and olive oil. Generous portion of truffles all over fresh seabass. Would be $30 dish in NYC. Pasta dishes are perfectly cooked and as food as you will have. Now a few negatives. White wine we ordered tasted slightly soured. Didn't... More

Staying in Trastevere

Neighborhood Profile
Trastevere
Trastevere ("beyond the Tiber") is like a faded postcard, a little worn around the edges but still charming. With its wide-open piazzas, meandering streets, weathered Renaissance buildings, and overgrown personality, it's become an irresistible mecca for visitors. Trastevere is an enclave of entertainment - a rotating set of street performers entertains almost every night, and unforgettable eateries and bars pepper its piazzas and side streets. For a trip to the past, visit the southern and western flanks of Trastevere for pockets of yesteryear, less traversed areas with a residual 1960s and 70s Roman vibe.
