To sum up: Didn't even get to try the food due to the terribly rushed atmosphere in there and very impolite waiters! We left just paying the water. Due to all the great recommendations we were super excited to find Le Mani in Pasta in Trastevere and as expected there were a couple of people waiting for tables. The first... More

We found the restaurant after seeing a few local people get in, while searching for an open restaurant on Sunday in Trastevere. A bit crammy, but food and service were wonderful. Not being very hungry, we ordered grilled seabass and mixed salad. We got a nice glass of Shapagne and a generous pasta onthe house while waiting. the fish was... More

Let me start by saying the food is great. The best dish by far is raw seabass w truffle and olive oil. Generous portion of truffles all over fresh seabass. Would be $30 dish in NYC. Pasta dishes are perfectly cooked and as food as you will have. Now a few negatives. White wine we ordered tasted slightly soured. Didn't... More

I've read many gushing reviews on this restaurant which is tucked away in the Trastevere. It's a reasonable pasta restaurant but that's about it - nothing to write home about and certainly not worth the gushing reviews. Its a good honest pasta restaurant to be fair and the staff were pretty good, but there's a lot of those in Rome.

The food is excellent. We have been here multiple times. Try the steak with porcini mushrooms - amazing! Get a reservation as early as you can - waits can be long.

This restaurant is fabulous ! Authentic Italian with good atmosphere & attentive waiters! Great food ! We asked our waiter for a recommendation & the pasta dish did not disappoint us! It is where the locals eat - little difficult to find but worth every second ! This is my idea of a cozy Italian restaurant! Very reasonable prices !... More

We were seated in the basement and service was beyond bad. We made selections from the menu and our waiter told us to try the "fresh" menu. Some of the dished from that menu were not to our liking (very fishy sea bass). Some people left after sitting 40 minutes before even seeing a server. We had to ask for... More

A very very good restaurant. It's quite small so you better book a table in advance. All food is very fresh, saw with my own eyes their delivery. Pasta is really the best I have ever tried. You just want to lick your plate after the meal. They also had lots of different sea food dishes: starters and main. Everybody... More

As far as I'm concerned, Le Mani in Pasta is the best restaurant ever. The carbonara... The lobster linguine... The mussels, clams and shrimp app... Really, anything you order is going to be fantastic. They are known for their seafood and their authentic Roman pasta dishes (i.e. carbonara [egg, pancetta] or cacio e pepe [cheese, pepper]). Their wine list is... More

Staying in Trastevere

Neighborhood Profile
Trastevere
Trastevere ("beyond the Tiber") is like a faded postcard, a little worn around the edges but still charming. With its wide-open piazzas, meandering streets, weathered Renaissance buildings, and overgrown personality, it's become an irresistible mecca for visitors. Trastevere is an enclave of entertainment - a rotating set of street performers entertains almost every night, and unforgettable eateries and bars pepper its piazzas and side streets. For a trip to the past, visit the southern and western flanks of Trastevere for pockets of yesteryear, less traversed areas with a residual 1960s and 70s Roman vibe.
