We had hoped for a higher rated place nearby, but it was Monday.

Lots of places are closed on Monday. We did not have salad. This place is famous for its salads, but they are huge dinner salads, and we wanted a different kind of meal. The prosciutto and melon appetizer was very fresh and very high quality prosciutto, but not nothing inspired. The ravioli and... read more

located in the heart of Rome’s historical city center, between Piazza Navona and Campo de Fiori, on the main Vittorio Emmanuele Blvd. There are inside tables and many tables outdoors. We chatted with one of the founders on our second visit to l'insalata ricca, and he really cares about the success of nis business, and cares about the product they... More

At first sight, L'Insalata Ricca doesn't look like your favourite restaurant in Rome. Yet it happened to become such place for us. We had the pleasure to enjoy various salads and reasonably good wine and beer multiple times. The staff was friendly and we felt welcomed. This definitely isn't fine dining, but the value for money is absolutely excellent. Thank... More

Do NOT buy gelato here. Paid 5 Euro for one small scoop. Super poor value for money. My wife ordered the hamburger, although it was good, be warned hamburger here does not come in bread, its just a meat pattie with potatos as a side.

After nearly two weeks on an organized food and wine tour in Southern Italy, I added a few extra days in Rome. This restaurant has all the traditional options, but so much more. Their vegetable soup was the best I had in Italy and the grilled chicken with vegetables was excellent! Waiters are friendly.

Situated at the eastern (?) end of Campo dei Fiori, this is a great place to people watch. We stopped here in late morning, well before the lunch rush, and were received with very inattentive service, presumably because we only ordered wine and no food. I suspect the meals are quite good based on others' reviews, but we felt like... More

We had a lovely meal at this restaurant prior to leaving Rome after a 5 day stay. The food is simple but well cooked and well presented. They also have an enormous selection of salads (one of which we had had in their Vatican City branch). The service was friendly and their location was ideal for us. Having visited two... More

I went to L'Insalata Ricca several times during my trip to Rome. The food there is excellent, fresh, and it's easy to find both authentic Italian dishes as well a lighter fare-- they specialize in salads after all. I particularly liked their cacio e pepe, gnocchi with mussels, and the pellegrino salad (Brie, walnuts blueberries, apples, and turkey- an excellent... More

We went to the one close to Piazza Navona. My husband had eaten there for years, being born and bred in Rome. His parents used to make fresh pasta and they supplied this chain of now 12 restaurants, up from 8 by the time he moved away from Rome. It was my first time. We went with a few friends.... More

This place was suggested by my brother and it took me a while to find it as I started to look for it from the other end of the street. However I am not sorry I did not give up. I ate the Insalata Imperiale and it was divine. My husband had a risotto which was a bit on the... More
