It's got the red-checked table cloths that says Italiano. It has a cozy interior. It's busy nightly with a largely native clientele (telling you this is not a tourist trap). It has aa congenial wait staff that can be helpful, It has a very reasonably priced menu. And, most importantly, it has food that is quite good. I've dined at... More

The pasta was good (carbonara), the pizza was good (italiana), the calzone was good, and the house wine was good & all for a very reasonable price.

Was in Rome for a couple of days and located not far away from this restaurant. We were a group of four, had a flight delay, horrible traffic on autostrada and by the time we got to hotel we were dead hungry. While scouting the area for a restaurant we noticed this restaurant and we opted to try it out... More

We were introduced to this very simple and very ful-filling restaurant by our B&B host, Daniella. The piazza was excellent, the pasta dishes piled high with homemades which still make my mouth water as I write this some 24 hours later, I chose the pecorino and black pepper pasta, my traveling companions the carbonara and pizzas. We "oohed and aahed"... More

What a great little restaurant which we only found on our last night. Waiter could not help us enough and ensured our two little girls had everything they needed, even to the point of doing a special 4 year old sized pizza. We had the best meal of our holiday for the least money. We sat outside on a Wednesday... More

We went here 4 evenings during a 6 night stay in Rome - needless to say we were very satisfied with what we got. We tried different restaurants all throughout Rome, but Al Simeto served without a doubt the best food during our stay. We tried six different pasta dishes, two pizza and every time - bruschettas as appetizers -... More

Had 2 meals at this restaurant and both were excellent. They do the classic roman pasta dishes like carbonara and gricia to perfection, and the portions are more than ample. Also tried the veal which was excellent. Hope it does not change before we return!

Reasonably priced pizza and other Italian foods. Service friendly but slightly odd in the order in which food arrived within our group. We were in a back room with just a few other diners - which was fine, except that we didn't appreciate the TV being switched on - rather distracting.

We were staying in a nearby hotel when we stumbled across this restaurant. It's family run and low-key and just what we were looking for. We had good pizzas and a glass of wine for a very reasonable price, surrounded by local families. A good experience.

This place is also known as Al Simeto. The food was great. My husband had spaghetti cacio e pepe which was delicious. I had penne al salmone which was divine! My husband ordered a mixed cheese plate and he did not expect the huge quantity of cheese!! He also ordered the scaloppina al marsala which was very good. My husband... More
