The gnocchi was amazing!

Ate here twice. First time at lunch and the place was swamped with people from the government office across the street. Those patrons are their priority obviously over tourist. We really didn't get served until all of the regulars were served. The gnocchi was amazing, really good. We were told... read more

Having honeymooned in Rome for 7 nights and dined in 6 different establishments I would say of the six Al Viminale was definitely the worst for me. Neither the elderly waiter/proprietor nor his waitress who I presume was his daughter spoke English making ordering difficult. I opted for the bolognese dish which upon first taste was delicious however, it was... More

We ordered lasagne and the old waiter gave us first rigatonni. Second time he gave tagliatelli. The pasta was excellent but the waiter not cares what he serves you. After the dinner he told us that they didnt have lasagne and that the pasta tastes all the same in whatever shape it comes. Weird experience...

Ate here with a friend that lives locally. She is a regular so we had great service. I had simple dishes but they were delicious:-) I like the fact that it was not very touristy...

I had the rigatoni carbonara. It was not very good. There were large pieces of dried up fatty chewy meat which was supposed to be bacon I guess My daughter ordered fettuccini bolognese which was excellent. Both our meals came out within a few minutes after ordering which tells me the meals were not prepared fresh. The bill based upon... More

Had Parmesan and bresaola salad followed by prawn risotto and spag carbonara, and chicken picata and stracitella (sp?) and rocket and Tiramisu. All just amazing rounded of with grappa and limoncello which Poppa left bottles of on our table to help ourselves, and then encouraged us even more when we seemed shy. Excellent house table red wine too. A little... More

I asked the receptionist of the hotel we were staying in for a recommended restaurant in the nearby area and he gave us a few with Al Viminale being one of them. We thought we would give it a try and were not disappointed. The meals were good value for money, large servings for reasonable price. We shared the antipasto... More

My husband and I really enjoyed this restaurant last night. I had the ravioli and my husband had the cannelloni and we both completely finished our plates. I have been craving the ravioli ever since and will definitely be heading back for more before we leave rome. The service was great and the desserts were delicious as well. Also, it... More

The TV was on during the dinner hour. Italian game shows and the cook was watching it. She should have been focusing on our dinners as my cannelloni was cold in the middle. They hit it with the microwave and all was good. Well, not really, it was still mediocre cannelloni. I would go elsewhere for better ambiance and food.

We found this place by accident, and I'm glad we did. We were staying nearby, and the person at the front desk suggested that we go to Via Cavour for dinner. We made a wrong turn and were headed to Via Nazionale. We looked down a side street, decided to look at the menu, and thought we'd give it a... More
