This is one of the best places for steak I've been too. Steak was cooked how we liked it, it didn't cost a fortune and it tasted amazing!

Dined here early January 2015. The atmosphere was buzzing and the restaurant was really busy. The staff were extremely friendly. Unfortunately that is where the good experience ended for us. The waiter suggested a number of different dishes, some of which we chose, and others we selected ourselves. The wine was delivered to the table well into the first course,... More

This little restaurant in Trastevere is to die for. It was so good, we ate there 3 nights in a row. Of course, we had different dishes each time, but the Pappardelle with Cinghale was ordered each night as a Primi Plat because it was sooo good!!. I ordered the 2 different Mixed Grill dishes for the first 2 dinners,... More

When in Rome for the holidays, we stumbled into Il Ciak on a rainy night, and fell in love! The meat is fresh, grilled on an open wood fire, and served "naked" with olive oil, salt and pepper. It was the best game meat I've had - including any place in the US. I had wild boar, quail, chicken, and... More

This restaurant has a wide range of options for meat eaters, but almost none for vegetarians. The portions are normal, though the quality of the food is average. I found it a bit too expensive for the quality served. I hate those restaurants that offer (or even without asking bring to the table) bread and water and then charge you... More

This is a typical italian place where they do not speak very much english, but that does not matter, because the service is very good, the atmosphere is absolutely lovely. Lots of local people and tourists in a good mix. You will be disappointed if you think the dishes are served with a lot of sides, potatoes, sauces etc. This... More

This place is a buzz with character. We had fillet steaks cooked over the wood ash. The steak had no seasoning on it and really tasteless. We asked for French fries to go with the steak but they said they didn't do them. Only grilled...which was a sliced baked potato put over the bbq ashes to grill. They were cold,... More

this doesnt really look like a restaurant from the outside. it kind of looks like a deli or a butcher shop or something. but we found it online and it looked interestng and not super touristy and so we decided to try it. it did turn out to be more tourist oriented than we had hoped but I have to... If you are in Rome and fancy something different to all the restaurants that have the same basic menu outside and don't want to pay the prices charges by the restaurants along Via Veneto, then you can't go far wrong with Il Ciak in the Trastevere area - just across the Ponte Sisto. The food is mostly cooked on the... More
