There was a bit of a wait but it was well worth it. Passed the time watching the chef as he slaved over the open barbecue. The display case was also pretty cool. Awesome steak and bruschetta though my husband wasn't as excited about his osso buco. Would make a point to return next time we are in Rome.

Ok, this is a hunter's restaurant. So don't come here if you are vegetarian. I come here every time I am in Rome, what a fun place! We were staying near piazza bologna and i wasn't sure which bus to take so i called. I do speak italian so that helps, and the signora informed me which bus to take... More

The wild boar and wood fired game is special. Lots of game birds as well. As far as those go they are good. Add lamb, steaks and pork and it is a carnivores' delight. The wild boar and venison are both terrific. The lamb kabobs are tough and lack seasoning. They need to learn how to do veggies. Done on... More

If you want to eat great meat in a cozy "non-turistic" atmosphere this is the place to go to! The meat is exquisite and the list of red wines is to die for!

They seem to open this restaurant only when the open charcoal grill is ready, we called in but they asked us if we could call back in about half an hour, we did so and what a treat you can watch them cut up fresh steaks and grill them to order, this place gets very busy and you may need... More

Set in Trastevere il ciak is a carnivore's heaven. As you enter there are huge slabs of meat on display. The Tuscans certainly like their meat. Wild Boar, Rabbit, Hare and Beef all feature heavily on the menu. Grilled on a wood fire the smells will give you an appetite - just as well the portions are huge.

It's a traditional Italian restaurant, in a small street in Trastevere. It's old, famous but not touristic, with a reasonable price. Better to reserve your place before going. The menu is large with some local specialities and especially meats. The service is good and fast, they are very helpfull, friendly and gentle.

Atmosphere OK, but food distinctly dubious. We like game meat and eat it regularly in the UK, we ordered 'wild boar' chops, and 'deer' chops, they tasted remarkably like pork chops and lamb chops and like no game meat we'd ever had before... Was pleasant enough, but wouldn't have ordered at those prices if we'd know what it was going... More

This is a traditional Italian restaurant in a winding little street in charming Trastevere. Both locals and tourists come here and no wonder: The menu is quite large, with some tuscan specialities and a whole section of "wild" meat like boar and venison. We were here twice and especially enjoyed the mozzarella DOP and the skewered lamb.
