Great in the middle of a very touristy area

From Start to end, it was Nice. Had pasta has a starter as you do in Italy... Quiet a big portion for a starter. Will have been just enough for a main. Than had a main with meat and artichokes which is a speciality from Rome and it was lovely. House wine was ok, but price for this area was... read more

not the cheapest in trastevere, but not expensive either and well worth it. I had an amazing ossobuco (the bone marrow cut) Roman style with anchovies-tasting puntarelle on the side. not light, but to be tried at least once. the other meat cuts that you can select yourself at the entrance with the manager's help are also mouth watering and... Had a 1kg bistecka alla florentine which was the best I have eaten ! Good atmosphere , amazing home made deserts , try the ricotta or the panacotta. Do not order vegetables, it's not their things... Recommend for meat lovers.

We went here 2 nights in a row. The first night was my birthday. How bout that! My wife and I both had a great experience and a great meal, one we'll never forget. She had a cinghiale pappardelle she said was the best ever and I had a combo meat plate of lamb, pork and beef that was great.... More

Our extended family of ten spent our Thanksgiving meal at il Ciak. The food and the service were fantastic. The steaks were cooked perfectly and very flavorful.

Hotel reception recommended this place as we were craving for meat (withdrawal symptoms from Florence ;-p). A jovial owner came by to take orders and the grill master is a lovely chef with bright eyes and takes his meat very seriously! Had the T-bone steak and sirloin, both grilled to perfection (medium-rare). We went for the artichoke and roast pork... More

in amongst all the tourist restaurants is this little gem. Food cooked over an open indoor wood burning grill. Ordered a Fiorentina steak (1.2kg) a litre of local red wine and my partner and I thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, great friendly service, owners recommending dishes. awesome!

I was drawn to this Restaurant while walking past because it was obviously Meat focused! There was confusion with what I ordered (from the meats on display) and what was cooked but in the end 'all was good'. The food was excellent, the house wine as well. A big suggestion is to choose a table well inside, I had one... More

If you like meat don't miss this place... Specialized in game this restaurant can offer a great selection of meat and typical Roma's food. Not cheap but definitely a must try...

We picked this restaurant for our last night in Rome and were not disappointed. Located in the neighborhood called Trastavere, we enjoyed walking around the streets and getting lost in the shops and street entertainers. When it was time to pick a place for dinner, we asked a couple of local people about this place and they said "meat" and... More

Staying in Trastevere

Neighborhood Profile
Trastevere
Trastevere ("beyond the Tiber") is like a faded postcard, a little worn around the edges but still charming. With its wide-open piazzas, meandering streets, weathered Renaissance buildings, and overgrown personality, it's become an irresistible mecca for visitors. Trastevere is an enclave of entertainment - a rotating set of street performers entertains almost every night, and unforgettable eateries and bars pepper its piazzas and side streets. For a trip to the past, visit the southern and western flanks of Trastevere for pockets of yesteryear, less traversed areas with a residual 1960s and 70s Roman vibe.
