Lucky Find

We lucked out with this very pleasant restaurant as we were out about 9pm at night. While all of the places we had been recommended were full, we found this gem hidden in an alley that sat us right away. Based on TA reviews was eager to visit. The food lived up to the billing with many great traditional and unique dishes to choose from. The service was very professional. Really only drawback was that on a Monday night there was only three tables and it seemed a little lacking in atmosphere.

Our friend who had lived in Rome for 6 months picked out great places to eat, but told us to pick out a restaurant one night. My wife noticed this restaurant on our way to Trevi Fountain. It was the most delicious meal we had in Rome. The service was excellent. They recommended a great wine and a great beer.... More

Nice menu and great food prepared in a very atmospheric setting. Best food we experienced in Rome, we will definitely come back. Great wines and very and professional service too! Good value for money, all handmade and really high quality italian food! Would recommend anyone to see this place while in Rome!

We have had a week in Rome eating out every meal. We stumbled across this gem but what a pleasant surprise. The food and service was excellent. So nice to have food such as this all made on the premises rather than fairly ordinary food from the million other tourist traps with people hassling you on the street. Very highly... More

Droped in to this very nice restaurant by coincidente and was happy to do so. We had a 4 course menu, which was very tasty and to the right price. A good wine was suggested. The service was excellent and the atmosphere nice. The portions where maybe to big, but can you really complain on that ?

In the eternal town you can found thousands restaurants, pizzerie and so on, but in few you're able to eat dishes no by canteen. Is it expensive? Yes, of course, but it's a pleasure: Bresaola di chianina, anchoves with hair of fried ricotta, tonnarelli cacio and pepe, tonnarelli alla norma, half bottle falanghina, water, bread hand made: €.64.

We made a reservation, which was unnecessary, as the place was quite empty. The restaurant is located on a quiet side street, which is refreshing considering that the area around the Pantheon is so noisy and busy. The restaurant has a modern feel and the service was good. As we were in Italy during artichocke time, we tried their version,... More

This small restaurant is close to the Parliament and is frequented by politicians both at lunch time and in the evening; if you are into people-watching you will certainly recognize some faces. The decor and ambiance is not very exciting, nor is the food. That said, their "cacio e pepe" was excellent and their "tiramisu" both light and tasty. The... More

Staying in Colonna

Neighborhood Profile
Colonna
Frantic fashionistas, pedicured politicos, goal-oriented tourists, and on-the-go locals cross paths every day in Colonna, a delightful chaos in the very center of the city. Even though it has some of the city’s loveliest sites—a 2nd century column, Belle Epoque shopping center, and a magnificent Baroque parliament building—Colonna is not just another pretty face, but the cosmopolitan eye of Rome’s cultural storm. Colonna can safely say it has the best of Rome: museums, boutiques, window displays, restaurants, cafes, and people watching.
