nice restaurant in Pompei

We headed there after a long day walking in the historical Pompei. A good place to have some fish, a bottle of nice local wine for a fair price. The menù offers few land and sea options, we opted for a fish starter, a pasta course and a grilled mix of fish that was the best course. In general the... read more

I would give this place 10 out of 5 stars. Roberto explained not only what we were eating, but the history and cooking styles unique to the area. He had superb recommendations for our family of 6 including several very picky eaters. On no notice, they also had gluten free pasta for one Celiac in the group. He politely guided... More

Our family had supper here on Dec. 1. The food was excellent and our host was very friendly. Do try the pear and cream cake, it is their speciality for a good reason! My daughter's stuffed penguin had a great time (so she says).

We were in Pompeii early November. Most restaurants were closed. We happened into this restaurant. It was full of locals having Sunday lunch. That's how you know it's good, when the locals eat there. Everything else that was open was expensive and touristy. We were warmly treated. The fabulous food just kept on coming. I don't remember what the cost... More

We arrived here late for lunch from Rome - around 2.30 pm but they still served us lunch although we were the last lunch guests. I remember we selected our meals from their set menu - some of us had the local fish, grilled shrimp and some the spaghetti carbonara. The food was good and so was good. But what... More

We were taken to this trattoria by a local lady we met in the Piazza and asked for a recommendation of a good place to eat. The waiter Roberto, was very helpful and knowledgable in regards to the menu. He also speaks great English. The food was great, especially the home made pasta. The home made rum baba was absolutely... More

We dropped into this place by chance because we didn't fancy the look of anything else. On entering the owner greeted us (as well as momma and poppa sitting by the door). He warned us there was a large party and we may have to wait. Actually even with a large party in another room which was extremely busy we... More

We tried to book by phone but it was not possible. However, we found a seat right once there. Had a tasty lunch based on 1 shared starter, 2 main courses, 1 second course shared in 2, water and wine. All with a moderate price.

This place is a real find, given how awful most places in Pompeii are. They make really authentic specialties of the area and do them extremely well. I was particularly struck by the superb desserts: we had a ricotta cake made with buffalo-milk (the traditional, but now rare, way) and a splendid home-made babà. I give them a very strong... More

I've been to Add'u Mimi many times and it is truly a special place; alone and with large groups it's always been a delight. It's the only restaurant I'll eat at when visiting Pompeii. It's a family run establishment and Roberto, the head of the operation, is a welcoming and charming host. The food is satisfying, of high quality, and... More
