We spent seven days in Pompei a week ago. We always try to avoid typical tourist restaurants and search for places where Italians eat. This way we found Add’u Mimi Trattoria (traditional family restaurant since 1825) in Via Roma and Roberto, it’s very nice owner. Finally we had dinner there every evening except when he was closed. We were delighted... More

I visited this restaurant in May 2015 with 7 friends and we were taken to the back of the restaurant upstairs. We had seen the restaurant the night before but were put off as they appeared to have no diners, so don't let that put you off ! We met the owner Roberto who went through the menu with us... More

The place is boisterous and full of mostly Italians although one can never escape a sprinkling of Americans. Our main courses were veal costata which was a little tough, spaghetti vongole which was good and penne arrabiata which the waiter was sure would be too spicy for me. It wasn't. At the end of the dinner the owner decides which... More

Two UK tourists - one a Coeliac - in search of a restaurant that serves gluten free dishes. We found the best one in Pompei here (so far the best we've found in Italy) for both of us! Roberto took the menus away and led us through what the kitchen could provide with a wonderful understanding of what Coeliac disease... More

In March 2012 we had two excellent dinning experiences at Add'u Mimi, Roberto made us feel like honoured guests, he was the perfect host. April 2015 we walked back into the restaurant sat down and Roberto arrives with the menu's "Wait....I remember you" we were amazed and very flattered. We ate what Roberto recommended and it was superb. If you... More

We ate at Add'u Mimi last night. Started with an antipasto di mare we shared that consisted of grilled octopus and what we thought were fried shrimp balls but turned out to be made with seaweed. For our second course my wife had gnocchi with a light red sauce and I had pasta (a flat noodle, the name of which... More

Amazing authentic food. We were really surprised when we got here, at both the prices (being in such a main/tourist area) and the quality of food. We ordered our dishes and because we were so amazed at the quality, just kept on ordering. The sea bass was so fresh it needed nothing added... Had a nice crispy skin on it... More

Our B&B owner recommended this restaurant and we were pleased we went! The gnocchi dish was huge, and the bistecca and swordfish were both good. The house red is divine - and cost about €5/€6 a bottle! We enjoyed the service - patient, friendly, and although the restaurant was full of tourists, we didn't feel like we'd fallen into some... Where do I start? This place is easily passed by..open your eyes and find it! Its well worth the effort. I may have eaten the best meal ever right here and Im sure its not the house red talking. From the front it looks like an empty restaurant which is never a good sign but we continued based on the... More
