An unfortunate mistake.

We were heading for a quick lunch after seeing the ruins, and our local restaurant, Todisco (worth a visit) was closed. A short walk away lies La Vinicola, charming from the outside, with a vine roof and rustic decor. The waiting staff seemed generally welcoming and attentive (or at least as... read more

We asked our private guide Antonio of Discovery Guided Tours to take us to a good Italian seafood resto for lunch, and he brought us to La Vinicola. A good sign was that we noticed that the patrons seating at tables around us were Italians, and not tourists like us. Wow, the food was amazing. We order pizzas, carppacio with... More

My wife and I ate here one evening on the way back to our hotel. The restaurant appeared to be nice enough, but the food was really disappointing. Also, the restaurant was not air-conditioned and the lack of air flow made it very stuffy inside. And, I just have no understanding of toilets with no seats. The fried dough pastry... More

This place appealed to us because it looked so inviting and it is nice enough but they obviously cater for the tour buses rather than just couples like ourselves. The service was good and the food average, it just doesn't come across as a real Italian Restaurant that we have come to love in our travels, for example for a... More

What an awful food stop in a lovely city. No atmosphere, scruffy looking (once you get past what looks like quite an inviting entrance). Slow service, I ordered a side dish that came out long after the main was finished. My partner had finished his food long before mine arrived and the food was just bland, limp, awful. A travesty... We stayed in Napoli 1 week. We had sightseeing and trying Italian cuisine of course! About La Vinicola restaurant we have read in a few places, about local family tratoria with she boss (mamma) and great local dishes. So after 4 hours of walking in Pompei ruins we decided to go there. Walk 20 minutes from local train station (taxi... More

Soggy cool lasagne which left an unpleasant feeling. Bog standard olives. This was not a nice meal at all (lunchtime). Hope others have a better experience as it is not that cheap either.

This restaurant is very simple and seams that an italian family take care of the bussiness. The food is good but the best thing was the treatment and service. The waiter was very nice with us and suggested a nice menu. The price is good, the things are not expensive and the wine is good too (wine of the house).... More

This was our second visit to this restaurant (the first visit was around 2 years previously). We were slightly underwhelmed on our first visit but decided to give it another try. The tables outside and at the end of the corridor look appealing, but we were guided towards a large side room which isn't quite so atmospheric. The office desk... More

Lets start with the table, it must have just emptied because it was still dirty from the guests before us, it's busy, I understand but not to clean it off before you give us our menu? I should have left there and then but I didn't. You took our order for drinks and still the table has not been cleaned,... More
