This restaurant looks fantastic and the smartly dressed waiter looks the part but that was pretty much it for our authentic experience. We were ushered into a large backroom away from the interesting busy 'authentic' atmosphere. We were given a crumpled menu in English and realised the only other table in the room was also occupied by tourists. The service... More

Going to la Vinicola was a bit like that Italian Restaurant scene in The Lady and the Tramp. it may not be the poshest nor the grandest restaurant, but being in a small alley between two buildings certainly added to the charm of this place. Don't expect haute cuisine. What they serve in that restaurant, always with a smile, is... More

I last visited this restaurant some 8 years ago, I was very pleased then and decided to try again on my recent visit, things have changed as the courtyard now has a sliding roof in case of rain but much remains the same for the good. Firstly the staff are very pleasant efficient English speaking and helpful, in fact quite... More

This tiny restaurant has and typical old style ambiente with it's very own flair. For us it washthe second visit after three years we visited last time Pompeji and it is still the same atmosphere we like a lot in this region around Napoli. Don't expect some highbrow cuisine, it is more like "Mama Italia" is cooking for you in... More

There was a nicely dressed man that greeted us, but that was the only thing that was nice. They sat us next to the door that connects the restaurant to it's neighbor, then decided to open the door and carry food over my head until I decided to move the table myself. Service was terrible. My husband's food came out... More

We were not impressed with this restaurant. Service was slow and order was not completed accurately. Meat pizziola was sour. Ordered two salads and was brought one salad and an order of fries that was not ordered and waiter said just take it. My husband speaks perfect Italian so communication was not the issue. Would not recommend this rest at... More

We read a review with a reference to this restaurant and Fawlty Towers, it intrigued us enough to go here. So, good food, reasonably priced, the wine as well. Speaking of wine. Our waiter, a very properly dressed Basil Fawlty inquired whether we would like white or red. Bianco I replied, white or red he asked....OK white. There were the... More

We were impressed by the friendly welcome from the smartly dressed guy at the door. From then on it went from good to bad to worse. We were led through a dark, cavernous, empty space to a large, scruffy dining room that completely lacked ambiance. Only two tables were occupied so we expected good service. Wrong! We waited while two... More

As a tourist---I found this family restaurant an absolute delight. I was staying at the nearby "Hotel Forum" and I really enjoyed this fantastic home cooking and the translated menu was a great help. I found the other restaurants more expensive and lacking this 'family charm' The food was really great-and we went back for a 2nd meal 2 days... More
