Worth the wait

After 45 minutes on the street and 20 minutes ordering, the food arrives and is incredibly good. Fresh and hot and delicious. The house Margherita (an award winner) will be in my mind when I return home for months to come.

Excellent pizzas in Via Tribunali sector of Napoli. Delicious. Fast service. Only downside was the wait but well worth it. Go for the basic pizzas- really nice.

Best pizza we had in Naples. Went for a take away as didn't want to wait an hour for table. 3 euros for best pizza I've ever eaten! Tip - steam straight in and order pizza to takeaway. You will be able to see it being made and cooked in about two minutes. Grab a beer from the fridge in... More

I doubt you will find a better pizza for the price. Super delicious! Is a loud and a super busy place, so if you are looking for a quite place to eat and relax, I do not recommend. But as I've said, great value for a fantastic pizza!

Fight your way in and write your name on the waiting list. While waiting order a fritatina, arancino (one of each) and whatever they have there in exhibit. Don't eat to much, leave some room for the pizza. Keep it simple and ask for a Margherita. Good quality means less ingredients.

I went there following the suggestion of Lonely Planet and my hotel receptionist... obviously like every other tourist in town. Pizza was the worst I ever had, they have a menu full of options when they actually have two to offer. Service was the worst ever, place was so dirty like waiters. I so regret going there, I had to... More

thought this pizza would be really good, but don't believe the hype. If you don't speak Italian forget about it. If you want an "experience" standing in a crazy line waiting for a table or take away sure try it. But there are many other places that serve way better pizza. We prefer Da Ettore or obviously da Michele.

Only marinara pizza available (tomato) though had a tiny bit of cheese...pizza was fresh and tasty but service was awful - very stroppy server practically threw the pizza at us. Overall - cheap and tasty but marred by mopey maitre d'!

By reading other reviews, I expected a bit of a chaotic and rather intimidating experience here. The reviews prepared me for this, so the experience was rather pleasant. I had to wait for about 15 minutes for a table for one. The waiters gave me just the right amount of service, and the food was good (and cheap). Recommended!

If you have never had real neapolitan pizza, you should go no further. Di Matteo is a local staple and you can savor Napoli's best pizza. Don't go for fancy stuff, just order a Margherita (cheese and tomato). In addition to that, share a pizza fritta (fried dough stuffed with ricotta and ham) with your friends. Staff is not super...
