We already know that Napoli has the best pizza in the world, so if this is the best pizza in Napoli, then you get what I'm saying. This is the best pizza, and I am only slightly disappointed that I have peaked so early. I got the margheritta pizza, because sometimes it's best to go classic. I did opt for... More

We came based on our hotel's recommendation as Di Matteo was supposed to be one of the best and most authentic pizzerias in town. Here are the few reasons why you should never go to Di Matteo: - the service is absolutely terrible. The waiter grunts at you and brutally asks for your order before giving you a menu. He... More

If you're looking for a fancy restaurant, go to the seaside, here in the centro storico the tables are crammed and the service is very basic, but the food is delicious and very inexpensive! Among the historical pizzerie, Di Matteo is in my opinion the best you can try. I would recommend to start with an arancino and then opt... More

and with an impressive turn around time - efficiency not by making one feel rushed - and much more room than one could imagine than initially feared - one shouldn't have to wait more than 30 minutes! It would be a pity not to persevere and so miss out on great dough, with an impressively pillowed flexibility at the sides... More

I don't know if we got a bad slice or there is just fake hype about this place. Sure the price of 1 Euro sounds great but who cares if it isn't good. My husband and I each took a bite and the rest of the slice ended in the trash. My jaw seriously hurt the rest of the day... More

At first glance, you may think it's just a place to buy pizza to go, so we missed it first time. The second time, we just entered and saw that it's actualy a restaurant. There are places also in the first floor. The service is excellent. We didn't have to wait to much for the pizza. We bought special pizza,... More

At any time when is open you have to wait a long time ... for a take away. Anyway, for the lovers of the true concept of take away, you can have the same quality of pizza, just 50 meters down the street, at number 120. As I read on the internet, there is the brother of Matteo that is... More

I spent 3 days in Naples, and every single day I went to buy a pizza from Di Matteo and I did not even bother to try the other pizzerias around Naples. Excellent and efficient service even when packed with customers. With a small counter on the side selling fried food such as arancini, croquettes and fried pasta (amazing) while... More

Amazing pizza, so cheap! Best pizza we've had so far (going to try the other famous pizzas tomorrow tho...) The fried foods were so delicious as well - our favourite being the red arancini balls and croquettes.
