Great pizza, seats inside with more options

There are always people lining up on the street to buy pizzas from Di Matteo, those pizzas are relatively small and you don't get many options there, but you do need to have the courage to just walk past by the crowd and go into the pizzeria then you will find there are many seats available inside... read more

It was my second time to have the arancino di riso here since 2013. Luckily no queue this time. Again, many ppl came to grasp a take away pizza wrapped in paper and gone satisfactorily. No complaint for what I've paid and what I got. Delicious ad before. Next time will really try to grasp a pizza as what most... More

We just happened to walk by this place while walking around Naples. Got the tastiest fried dough and frittatine balls. So cheap and delicious! Worth the wait

Tasty affordable pizzas and fried pizza! Very popular, also locals were eating there. I liked it. Just that the road there is too narrow to accomadate pizza buyers, cars and other passers by. Just the right portion of simple fresh pizza folded in a paper to go. Highly recommendable.

It’s hard to describe what goes on in front of Di Matteo’s as crowds of locals and tourists – well, “line up” isn’t at all the right phrase – to get a slice at the takeout window. “Mosh pit” with pizza is more like it. The horde quickly backs up so much that passage through this narrow street in the... More

Truely a pizza institution in Naples. Pizza was brilliant. Walk in and turn left to access the restaurant. No fancy crockery or glasses (plastic), but I didn't come for the glasses. Fried pizza is a must, so to are the aranchinni balls. Cost for 4 pizzas, a bottle of wine and 3 comes, came to 33 euros, great value.

Grabbed a pizza margarita and fritta to go. Both good, pizza simple, fresh sauce, slight chew to the dough, while fritta was crisp and indulgent. Could've had more filling but can't complain for €1!! Went back for more the next day;-)

This place is a Napoli institution, operating since 1936 and with many claiming this is the home of some of the best pizza in Naples. It is easier to get into than Sorbillo down the road (which had queues outside both times we tried to go there) as it does not close in the afternoon, so that was a plus.... More

Three Euros for a perfect pizza, made in one of the best pizza maker in Naples, the capital of Pizza kingdom. Also try the "crocchè" (a potato mash croquette) or a frittata di spaghetti (spaghetti omelette), simply matchless. Th plac is tidy, including toilets. The only flaw, in the rush hour you could be forced to wait in the street... More
