Great Street-Za

Super fast pizza on the go. This was our first napoli pizza and it didn't disappoint. Little pizza joint with plastic cups and lots of fried options. The pizza was authentic and good and the house wine was decent too. Lots of locals there and we went around 7 and avoided the crazy lines that... read more

The pizza was average but eating it folded up and standing on the street might deter from the experience. The prize is hard to beat, though (1 euro).

After listening to my Napolitan friends stating this for years (and making fun of them for their absolutist approach) I finally managed to visit Napoli. I was promised by them a life changing experience when eating pizza in Napoli and, again, made fun of them. To my happiness (and their revenge) they were right. Pizza in Napoli is something else.... I would rate this place a solid "good" - but I can only choose "average" or "very good", so I'll give them the upgrade. I had their address from an article I read and purposely sought this place out - ended up walking way past it and back tracking as the street numbers are not easy to find or follow.... More

If you go to Naples you won't want to miss their street food and if you want to have the best taste of street food do check out this place which is in the historic city, in Tribunali st. Their street foods are the ones behind the window and they are very very cheap (1 euro) and very fresh and... More

When I was in Napoli I used to eat the frittatine in Di Matteo on my way home. They have zeppole, melanzane (fried eggplants), frittatine (fried maccaroni with cheese and meat), arrancini (fried rice ball with ragù), crocchè (fried potatos with mozzarella inside) and pizza fritta (fried pizza ) so good when you bite it, a fountain of hot mozzarella... We already know that Napoli has the best pizza in the world, so if this is the best pizza in Napoli, then you get what I'm saying. This is the best pizza, and I am only slightly disappointed that I have peaked so early. I got the margheritta pizza, because sometimes it's best to go classic. I did opt for... More

We came based on our hotel's recommendation as Di Matteo was supposed to be one of the best and most authentic pizzerias in town. Here are the few reasons why you should never go to Di Matteo: - the service is absolutely terrible. The waiter grunts at you and brutally asks for your order before giving you a menu. He... More

If you're looking for a fancy restaurant, go to the seaside, here in the centro storico the tables are crammed and the service is very basic, but the food is delicious and very inexpensive! Among the historical pizzerie, Di Matteo is in my opinion the best you can try. I would recommend to start with an arancino and then opt... More

and with an impressive turn around time - efficiency not by making one feel rushed - and much more room than one could imagine than initially feared - one shouldn't have to wait more than 30 minutes! It would be a pity not to persevere and so miss out on great dough, with an impressively pillowed flexibility at the sides... More
