We ate here for lunch on 26th December. We had two pizzas, wine and water for 27 Euro. We were a bit late, so it wasn't very busy. Standard was okay.
We entered this restaurant on the 1st of January, as it was one of the few open on this day. The staff was rude, some of them even did not hear when we spoke to them. For appetizer and pizza we spent 2 hours, the beverages were poured in plastic glasses, they mixt our order, bring some other sort of... More
The location was perfect, in the square and under umbrellas on a rainy day in October. The menu looked afforable for a pizza lunch with wine. Our waiter took out order of individual pizza's and drinks and then told us we must try their famous appetizers and Buffal Mozzarella. Our stupidity ...we didn't ask the price. Our tastey lunch was... More
We appreciated to have a lunch in a quiet terrace, feeling far from the center fever. The food (pastas with shells) was quite good, the staff is there when needed, and prices are reasonnable for the location we will come back if we happen to come back
This restaurant is one of three with outdoor seating in the busy Piazza del Gesu Nuovo. I guess they don't have to worry about repeat customers because there seemed to be no attempt to rise above the mediocre. We shared the octopus starter which was an absolutely huge portion and very chewy. We could not finish the plate and it... More
Meh. It was okay, but nothing to go out of your way for. There are big menu signs outfront and waiters try to get tourists to come in. Generally, I avoid this type of place, but we were hungry and it was convenient. The service was indifferent and the food acceptably ordinary. Go if you are hungry....keep walking if you... More
The location of Trattoria 'O Munaciello on Pizza del Gesu cannot be beat; maybe that's why the pizza was just okay. Perhaps they do well just by the sheer volume of tourists who eat here day to day. It was good but not memorable, clearly geared to tourists. The local wine, albeit pricey, was the best part of the meal.... More

Stopped in during lunch and the place was hopping. We ordered pizza - marguerite and one mozzarella and prosciutto. Both were delicious, especially the crusts. With two colas, one bottle of water and 2 pizzas, the bill was about $21 euros. We were happy!
The piazza is beautiful, but the food is not that good. Just an average italian restaurant one could find anywhere. The food is not awful, but not good either. Naples has plenty of better and cheaper restaurants. And O'Munaciello will never run out of tourist thanks to its great location.
