Good pizza, antipasto on a pretty piazza

A solid trattoria/pizzeria that does a brisk business at the edge of Naples’ historic center. We showed up quite late for a lunch reservation and they found us a table anyway, which we really appreciated. Vegetable antipasto, including arugula bites wrapped in roasted eggplant, was a welcome... read more

It's always a pleasure to eat here! You can find the traditional Neapolitan food with an excellent service. Also, the price is very cheap! The resturant is located in the middle of historical center, so it's the perfect restaurant for everybody.

We sat down for lunch. Staff members were standing outside, but were making no effort to seat us or welcome us, even though it was empty on the terrace where we sat. It almost made us go away. We're glad we didn't, because the pizza par condicio and the tagliatelle bolognese, were the best lunch we had in our three... More

Really good pizzas. Nice place to come for a pizza and watch the world go by. Very reasonably priced too.

We stopped here for lunch on our day trip to Naples. We were encouraged by the number of occupied tables and the friendly welcome. Our food was served quickly - pizza and pasta, both of which were enjoyable. The restaurant is situated on the busy square, Piazza del Gesu Nuovo, and it was nice to relax there and watch the... It's hard to find bad food in Italy but this restaurant proves it is possible. The Proseeco was warm and flat. Filet with mushrooms turned out to be shoe sole with two tiny mushroom fragments and lots of unidentifiable beans. The kale was bitter. Even being kind and imagining that the waiter was new didn't excuse the incredibly poor service.... More

Spagetti con Cozze and Fritura di Alici were nice choice. The square is nice and full of life. We might come back again...

This is a nice restaurant for typical Italian food but much better than average restaurants in the city. Fresh ingredients, good taste, fast service and a fair price. The bruchetta's are high quality with good mozarella. Pizza's are fine and sea food is very nice and fresh. We had the sea food mixed pasta and that was awesome! Desert and... More

Had a very pleasant evening here. Buzzy and atmospheric piazza, with a good selection of tables in the square. Staff were friendly and food (bruschetta starter, and diavola pizza) was really very good. Prices are excellent and you are not rushed, so can enjoy a lovely cold beer and watch the world go by.....

Great little find: the pizzas were excellent, and slightly different from traditional approach. Compared to the standard Neapolitan pizza (hands down the best in the world) the dough is lighter, but still not 'bready' (perhaps they let the dough rise twice - traditionally, it's only once) and their Margherita has a slightly higher proportion of grana/Parmesan on it. Sit in... More
