This restaurant has one of the best views in Naples. It is right on the harbor, with a great view of the sea and Vesuvius. It has a good menu and very good wine prices. It is the only place to eat on via Eldorado (skip the other places). The food was of perfect temperature, the service was prompt and... More

We visited Transatlantico for lunch twice on a recent visit to Naples and really enjoyed the grilled mixed seafood. The waiter recommended a local wine that was very good value and delicious. A lot of locals were eating at the restaurant - always a good sign. Total bill for two of us came to €90 for antipasti, seafood mains, deserts... More

This was our last dinner in Italy after a month of traveling, and I thought I had enjoyed every great flavor that you can add to seafood pasta dishes. I was wrong! My wife, and I always share a couple of different dishes, so we can both enjoy a wider selection of flavors. We would have like to have been... More

Neapolitan foods is great but you get tired of pizza and pasta. There are half a dozen restaurants down by the old fort at the harbor that specialize in seafood. Not cheap but you can't beat a fresh fish simply grilled. We thought the food here was fine and the service very friendly.

We ran into this restaurant to avoid heavy Naples rain. We were looking for a light (ish) lunch, so one course. My wife ordered veal in lemon, which I thought was a mistake, it was. Not to her taste at all - I think the dish was fine but it was her. The accompaniment, griddle dauber gone, courgette and pepper... More

As the sun sets over this grubby graffitied city, the details glow mauve and you see the beauty on the waters edge. Mount Vesuvius is a broken presence in the distance and boats of all kinds bob on the Bay of Naples. Nestled behind the Castle of the Egg, along the wharf at the corner sits Transatlantico. White table cloths... More

Food average at best. Service awful. To cap what was an unmemorable experience, they overcharged on the beer. Menu says 4 Euro for 660 ml Nastro Azurro, they charged 5 Euro for a 500 ml. Won't be back, ever.

We selected this restaurant randomly off the harbor, near the end of the ristorante row. The grilled fish was quite good, and fairly priced. The service was typically Italian - slow for US taste, but relaxed, almost to the point of disinterest. The waiters spoke very little English, but communication wasn't a big problem. With a half-bottle of wine, it's... More

I have been visiting this restaurant for 10 years. The setting is, I believe, the best in Naples. The view especially at sunset is breathtaking as Vesuvius glows! We started by sharing the mixed seafood which was a huge plate of mussels, clams, octopus, squid in a beautiful garlicky sauce. I then had seafood risotto and my other half had... More

After an annoying 1/2 day on the hop-on hop-off bus, we threw in the towel and decided to have some lunch. Transatlantico was a good choice for a sunny afternoon. The restaurant is one of several on a promontory in Naples Bay nestled up against the marinas and they draw a lively local crowd from the boats. We had prosecco... More
