Proper food

Recommended by an English friend for 'proper food', and not in our guidebook. In a scuzzi backstreet in Partenope. It's a family run restaurant, interior is modest but food is great, authentic, I am sure the mama is the chef in the back...The waiters are doing their best, the owner watching over their shoulder, Italian style.Every dish is made of fresh ingredients and served straight from the kitchen. Unpretentious, reasonable price for the quality. No scene, no frills. And be warned... More

There was no English menu, but the waiter was really patient and recommended us many dishes... We ordered a cured seafood platter, steak and lamp chop... Everything was yummy.. We ordered wine.. Decent and relatively cheap... Only down side is that it is not so easy to find... Have to walk through small streets to get to the restaurant..

A good name for this restaurant. 1) Because I had a great evening with good friends. 2) Because it felt like being at a friend's place. A nice, traditional, cozy place, with excellent service and really great food. You won't find it if you don't go look for it. A hidden gem, in one of the small streets behind Piazza... More

Was recommended this place by a friend who lived in Naples. Very quaint place with delicious food and cozy atmosphere. A bit difficult to find, so may be best to take a taxi!

A well run authentic restaurant where clean behind the ears Neapolitans come to lunch and dinner. Delicious food that makes you happy. Attentive waiters. Centrally located.

Our hotel recommended this restaurant and we can see why. It was mainly full of Italians and had a very family-oriented feel. As in, real authentic Napolitan dining! Highly recommend.

Tucked away in a side street, we had a wonderful meal here. We split gnocchi with spinach and gorgonzola -- it was al dente and creamy and perfect. following one had pork chop with peppers and one had veal marsala with a shared side of spinach Both were delicious. Dessert was a panna cotta topped with tiny intensely flavored strawberries.... More

Being in Napoli for awhile and looking for something non-pizza for dinner we found this place. It was a short walk from the Renaissance Napoli property. We ordered an anti-pasta and one pasta for the to split for the both of us and we each ordered our own entree. This was the perfect amount of food. The menu was not... More
