Ristorante al Grottino is hidden in an alley branching from the central plaza of Capri. It has no panoramic windows to offer, so they can only offer excellent food and great atmosphere. We found the "little cave" restaurant to be a perfect and quiet lunch getaway from the noisy, tourist burden street. Food was great, service - mostly by the... More

The food here is fantastic. Lovely place to dine, and excellent service too. Great day in Capri and a great lunch at Ristorante al Grottino.

Delicious meal (I had pasta with clams - so good) made from fresh local ingredients. The owner, Giancarlo, made us feel very welcome and made sure everything was perfect for us. Very highly recommended little spot near the top of the funicular in Capri.

The lovely decor and restful colour of the interior was what first attracted us to this restaurant. Next was the warm welcome we received followed by a truly lovely meal. The risotto marinara was a standout and the veal Marsala tender and delicious. We also enjoyed some local vino which accompanied the food perfectly. The owner, Gianfranco is a very... More

We dashed into the restaurant just as the heavens opened up. Our hosts welcomed us with open arms, taking our wet umbrellas and sitting us at a very nice corner table. Capri had quieted after all the day trippers had left - it was nice to relax in a quiet and uncrowded environment. Al Grottino is family owned and run... More

While visiting Capri on a cruise we ate here on a recommendation, we found a wonderful atmosphere with a friendly and helpful staff in a snug but tasteful setting. The food is simply sublime and quite reasonable given the quality, our only regret was our cruise departed later that evening so we were unable to return but we'll be back!!... More

Very nice veal scaloppine Marsala, cooked perfectly tender and richly-flavored, which I paired with a house red from the Naples area that was not only good but well-priced at 5 euro. With a contorno (vegetables, for which you pay extra), cheese platter for dessert, and two glasses of wine, my bill came to 42 euro, which I thought was okay... More

We chanced upon this small restaurant after turning down the over crowded touristy restaurant we had been directed to by the hotel. It turns out we were very lucky! We ate a delicious pasta al vongole and a seafood salad for starters. Had some wine by the glass which was a bit too expensive (that's the only downside to it).... More

Highly recommended. We started with the antipasto. Well-selected meats, cheeses and olives that were an excellent start to our meal. I had the scialatielli with shrimp and zuccini flowers paired with the house white wine, a Falanghina. The pasta was one of the best dishes I have ever eaten and the wine was excellent. My wife had the pasta with... More
