I would never have found this gem without tripadvisor

Hidden away up a side alley running along a narrow side street ,the restaurant is out of sight of most of the passing tourists. Which is a huge pity and a great loss . We were greeted and walked through a very large empty room, outside into the rear gardens where there was a hidden oasis... read more

If you are looking for the normal comforts of dining, this is not for you. However, if you are looking for quality homemade dishes, fresh from the owners garden and have a sense of adventure this is a wonderful evening. Dinner takes place inside the owners lemon tree garden. Some tables tucked under an old aqueduct. Others on the ground... More

We visited sorrento during out honeymoon and stumbled upon Giardini Di Tasso on a whim. It's tucked behind one of the one historical streets and set Marios lemon grove. He seems to be the only English speaker and explained his specialty dishes of the day. Don't leave without trying the lemon ravioli... Fantastic! He also explained that after living for... More

We go each Summer to Sorrento for two weeks vacation. And each year we dine at I Giardini di Tasso.at least twice. The atmosphere is second to none: candle light in a beautiful orchard of lemon trees with private booths available under the arches of a Roman aquaduct. The owner, Mario, is delightful and there is no need to consider... More

Set in a garden with lemon trees, this location is unlike any other in Sorrento and is amazingly quiet after the bustle of busy lanes close by. The family who run the place are very friendly, the food and wine are good and notably cheaper than just about anywhere else. Complimentary Prosecco and appetiser, with limenchello to finish just make... More

Food was wonderful. We didn't order off the menu but had the recommended dishes for the night the owner offered us. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Overall one of the most welcoming restaurants we visited on our trip with very enjoyable food.

What can I say, super hosts, super staff, super food!!... to eat in the oldest garden in Sorrento is a must, dating back to 8BC!! The owner Mario is very helpful and funny, and makes all the customers very welcome. This is an unique dining experience in Sorrento and should be on the list of things to do!

Tucked away in a little side street off the Corsa Italia, you will find this gem of a place. The surroundings in the garden were a delight and the atmosphere good. We visited on a Monday night, where, I'm glad to say, a lovely guitarist / singer named Francesco was entertaining the customers. He is there on Mondays, Wednesdays and... More

We only stumbled upon Mario's restaurant because we were chatting with his delightful sister, Vincenza, in her ceramics shop. We asked for a recommendation for dinner, and Mario happened to stop by, so she asked when his restaurant would be open. His response was to ask when we would like to dine. All three of us are so overwhelmingly glad... More
