Staying at this hotel and ate here tonight. Wonderful view of the city this high up the hillside. Prosecco and very good bruschetta complimentary at the start. Really enjoyed the pear and Gorgonzola risotto. The grilled sea bream was the local fish of the day and was excellent. Zucchini with cheese really good. Like most restaurants in Italy the house... Really enjoyed this restaurant. For one, the view is outstanding and romantic. We were expecting an average experience due to it being a hotel and banking on the spectacular view. But we're were pleasantly surprised. They provided a small Prosecco starter which was fun. We had a salad with shrimp and tomato which was nice and fresh. We both got... More

Liked - the view, the local wine, the local food, the perfectly timed service. Disliked - nothing at all, except for not being able to dine here more times during our too short trip

The menu indicates which dishes are made from frozen products. What an example! There was one waitress serving 4-5 tables. She had a busy evening but was friendly and warm. Food was good and the view unbeatable. No reservations but they say that tables never get full.

The Il Nido menu offers a wide variety of choices and is enjoyed at the outside seating overlooking Sorrento, Naples Bay and Mount Vesuvius in the distance. The service is friendly and efficient with kudos to Jacqueline and Dino for making the experience extra enjoyable. As guests of the hotel, we ate there every night by choice. We recommend it.

We stayed at the hotel and opted for half-board. The fresh fish dishes were especially nice. Anything with fresh lemon is recommended as Sorrento is a premier lemon-growing area.

The food was excellent with many choices. The service and wine selection was also excellent. The view was wonderful, and the terrace seating was romantic with the view of the Bay of Naples and the city lights.

This is a hotel that I had the good fortune to stay at for 8 days this past May, 2014. To say that my first day began after just about everything with flights going wrong is an understatement. So, to calm nerves, my friend and I decided to eat our first meal in Sorrento right at Il Nido. What a... More
