Mixed bag....

While my husband throughly enjoyed his dinner of mussels, I had the pasta with lemon and basil sauce. The pasta was over cooked and I could barely taste the lemon in the sauce. We also ordered the house wine and received a Banfi Chanti. While we both enjoy Banfi wines, for a restaurant in the... read more

Come to Sorrento and see the beautiful old city and the cliffs overlooking the sea. But don't miss the Ristorante Sorrento just steps from the sea and in the old town. The owner is very friendly and speaks English perfectly. He recommends great local wines and is an expert on his culinary talents. The restaurant also has its own wine... More

Since we came back we have seen a lot of mixed reviews for this place but we had a good meal here. So much so we went back again. The food was reasonably priced and the service very friendly and welcoming. Would visit again if in Sorrento

We stopped by in this restaurant for lunch. The heat was oppressive and the tables in the shade of the awnings looked inviting. We asked the waiter to recommend something light and palatable. He offered some fish – the catch of the day, which turned to be dry and tasteless. We had just arrived from Amsterdam where the seafood was... More

We were lured to eat here by the specials board, mussels, meatballs and pasta etc at reasonable prices. Service could be better, hindered by waiters chasing new customers up and down the road with leaflets and trying to entice wild kittens from under the tables. The food was adequate and well presented. Not disappointing but nothing to make you rush... More

A charming Italian waiter on the street singing our national anthem lured us in for an evening meal. Unfortunately this was the highlight of our visit! The food was very average and one member of our party did not get the fish he ordered. They served the rest of the table and cooked the fish that was ordered. Unfortunately it... More

This restaurant is on the side of a street – literally! We loved the outdoor tables and people walking or driving past. Yes, the waiters invite everyone to eat dinner here – just like they did with us. Our food was all good quality and delicious. They made a mistake on my nephew’s order (by translation?) but once delivered, they... More

We had walked past on several occasions. This time we were in the mood for a light lunch. We shown to to a table which was quickly turned from two tables into one for us. The full menu offers a good selection and what is nice to see and always a good sign is there were just as many locals... More

We stopped off at this restaurant for a quick libation having spent the morning walking the streets of Sorrento. As others have said... true indeed the staff were keen to entice tourists to one of their tables. When we arrived there was only one other couple and we witnessed the staffs' good humour and banter which was rapidly effective filling... More

Our worst meal in Sorrento. Staff harangue tourists constantly - the worst third world patter you could imagine - food distinctly average. Sardines were the size of whitebait and tasteless. Pasta dishes minuscule. Then to add insult to injury they add a 10% service charge - nowhere else in the town does. The whole place is a hustle. Avoid as... More
