My wife and I visited Sorrento in May and we had several meals at an excellent restaurant named Il Pozzo (The Well). We tried many of their pastas, risottos and pizzas and they were all wonderful. I had pasta with seafood more than once and it was excellent. I also had their risotto with mushrooms and it was delicious.Their house red wine is very good. It is fruity, easy to drink and very moderately priced. And for white wine, we chose Falanghina from the wine list. Falanghina is a local white wine that is fruity with a subtle crispness. Finally, I need to say a few words about the staff. They were always very helpful and made me feel completely comfortable. They were wonderful guys.Il Pozzo is located on via Tasso, down from the cathedral, at the intersection with via dell'Accademia.

Very good

Chose this place at random. Found it to have very good food at reasonable prices, with good service and a nice atmosphere. We noticed lots of locals picking up takeaway pizzas, so returned a couple of days later for pizza. We weren't disappointed.

So disappointed! Not used to writing critical reviews so finding it difficult to pen this. Invited to a table crushed between in-use wine rack and next table. No bread offered but expensive wine recommended by waiter following cursory examination of wine list. Chose one of the chef specialities which turned out to be deep fried chicken goujons and sweet chilli... More

It is very rare for me to have such a bad experience in a restaurant. From the outside it looked nice enough, and as it was a Monday many of the other restaurants in town were shut. However, DO NOT GO THERE!!! We arrived at the restaurant just before 8 o clock and ordered our food swiftly, however it did... More

Took family for meal here. Starter was slow. Mains took 1 hour to come. We sat outside and gas burner went out. We asked them to fix it. Waiter could not, and just walked off. We got very cold. I hope a Monday is just a really bad night for them.

On our final night we chose this Restaurant, reviews weren't too bad and it was near us. It wasn't very busy, we were sat down and given a menu, we were absolutely starving as we had nothing all day since breakfast and I was desperate for some tasty pasta. After choosing wine and food choices, we were left waiting for... More

I don't usually look at other reviews before writing my own, but in the case of Il Pozzo Restaurant I did. It was good to see that many reviewers had a positive dining experience. Ours was not so much. We decided to eat dinner here on our first night in Sorrento when we didn't know the city and had forgotten... More

We were pleased with our recent dinner while staying in Sorrento in October. There is a lovely outdoor area and a pleasant indoor eating area as well. My husband's veal scallopini was excellent, and my pistachio encrusted tuna with vanilla compote was also quite good. The waiter was pleasant, and we were able to eat comfortably without any rush. It... More

Just looking at price vs value this place is just sublime. The waiter was no nonsense, warm and friendly. No pressure, totally relaxed. Any pizza or tomato based sauced pasta had been excellent. The seem to try to cook the pasta softer for tourists so if you like al dente (harder pasta) do tell them. I also noticed any seafood... More

We first met this Restaurant in 1973, and keep going back, so it must be ok...Staying at the hotel nearbye in Oct with friends, we ran in here from a thunderstorm and stayed over 2 hrs.We chose melon and parma ham,and they gave us a selection of pasta dishes to try,I loved my rissotto di funghi ,frittura di calamari and... We walked by on a sunday during off season (November) and decided to enter for lunch because many local families were there. We were very happy with our decision. The service was friendly and very professional. We selected the antipasto misto for two as a starter. That was a big platter of many, many different dishes. After that today's special... More
