Description: My wife and I visited Sorrento in May and we had several meals at an excellent restaurant named Il Pozzo (The Well). We tried many of their pastas, risottos and pizzas and they were all wonderful. I had pasta with seafood more than once and it was excellent. I also had their risotto with mushrooms and it was delicious.Their house red wine is very good. It is fruity, easy to drink and very moderately priced. And for white wine, we chose Falanghina from the wine list. Falanghina is a local white wine that is fruity with a subtle crispness. Finally, I need to say a few words about the staff. They were always very helpful and made me feel completely comfortable. They were wonderful guys.Il Pozzo is located on via Tasso, down from the cathedral, at the intersection with via dell'Accademia.

We walked by this place a few times on our trip to Sorrento and finally decided to stop in for dinner one night. The only way I can describe this place is to compare it to your local go-to family restaurant. The food was excellent and the guys there were very polite and friendly. We enjoyed it so much we... One of the many restaurants in the historical district. Good food at reasonable prices for Sorrento. Service was efficient and friendly. This makes your experience seem so much more pleasant when staff have a sincere smile and friendly attitude.

In the middle of our treep in the beautiful alleys we've came across pozzo reastaurant. The nice waiter recommend us local wine that was very good and the price was fair. We've also asked him to recommend us what to eat, he recommend us pasta with fish and tomato sauce and cheese ravioli with eggplant and tomato sauce. The food... More

Visited here over the New Year and whilst the food was good, we probably wouldn't go back again as there are plenty of other restaurants in Sorrento for us to try. Just off of the main tourist area, the restaurant is fairly pricey and despite the fact that there were very few customers on the day we visited, service was... More

Loved it. I caught a cold on this trip and I have been eating soup everywhere. This was by far the tastiest vegetable soup I have had--ever. My husband and I split a serving of fresh grilled fish--sea bass- and it was perfectly grilled to our taste. The servings are usually quite big, about 400 grams, so we asked if... More

We didn't have very high hopes in this touristy area, where this was one of the few places which did not have touts outside trying to draw you in. However, the food here was surprisingly good, in particular the eggplant appetizer. The meal was quite respectable and the cost was reasonable.

upon stumbling in to escape monsoon type rains. Hospitable, attentive and knowledgeable staff, decent house wine and good menu selection. The waiter recommended pasta with clams which turned out to be one of the best pasta dishes in 2 months of travel in Italy and Croatia

We came across this restaurant while wandering around the old town. We were greeted immediately and offered a table. The waiter was very friendly and smiley. We each ordered a different dish and all of us said how much we enjoyed them. The food was fresh and very well prepared. The wine was tasty and reasonable. They were quite reasonable considering... The restaurant was close to our hotel and we decided to have a late lunch at "il pozzo". We ordered mussels as appetizer. We had "paccheri" (regional pasta) with a fish similar to red snapper on the side. The pasta was very good (al "dente") and juicy "pachino" (campari) tomatoes were on top. The fish was absolutely fresh and delicious.... More
