My wife and I visited Sorrento in May and we had several meals at an excellent restaurant named Il Pozzo (The Well). We tried many of their pastas, risottos and pizzas and they were all wonderful. I had pasta with seafood more than once and it was excellent. I also had their risotto with mushrooms and it was delicious.Their house red wine is very good. It is fruity, easy to drink and very moderately priced. And for white wine, we chose Falanghina from the wine list. Falanghina is a local white wine that is fruity with a subtle crispness. Finally, I need to say a few words about the staff. They were always very helpful and made me feel completely comfortable. They were wonderful guys.Il Pozzo is located on via Tasso, down from the cathedral, at the intersection with via dell'Accademia.

Decent place

One of many good restaurants in Sorrento and we had the red snapper linguine and it was very nice. Not too badly priced and the house wine was good. The deserts looked bought in and I sent the rum baba back as it was dry and tasteless. No problems with the waiters who were only too happy to try... read more

Il Pozzo Ristorante Pizzeria We stopped off in this little Pizzeria, for a quick bite to eat, washed down with a glass of the local Aglianico di Campania, red wine. Nothing out of this world, just a; nice pizza; very reasonable, served by friendly and attentive staff. The desert was a lovely homemade ice cream cone, topped with chocolate. I... More

Tried this place during our 10 day holiday in Sorrento and enjoyed it so much we came back for our final night on my dad's birthday! The food is very much what you'd expect in a hotel in this area - all the old favourites. I recommend the baked aubergine. Just a nice cozy atmosphere - was always busy and... More

We had dinner here and the food was very good but the service was very slow and it was very difficult to attract the attention of the staff to order our meal and even to get the bill.

Was it amazing? No. But it was good! If you're hungry and you know it, sit down and have a pizza and a beer. The pasta was fresh and the pizza was pretty good. Not too expensive and the staff are good communicators with a good, friendly demeanor. There are so many places in the heart of Sorrento that look... More

Had to return twice in 5 days as the handmade pasta with lemon shrimp was fantastic! Service was good but not rushed tables quite close together but good as you can inspect other diners meals. All looked wonderful heard no complaints.

We visited on Sunday 11 October. We shared grilled (very fresh) sardines. I had Gnocchi stuffed with smoked mozzarella with prawns and zucchini. Just wow. Other half had red snapper pasta, which was also good. Finished off with Sorrento lemon cake, which is a local speciality. It was delicious. Ate elsewhere the next night, which was pretty terrible, so returned... More

my wife and I had Linguine bolognese and seafood pasta. The service was polite and ok, the food hot and my seafood pasta good. We ate late so the restaurant was deserted. The menu is extensive but the décor needs sprucing up!

As a young couple travelling Italy we have seen a lot of menus and this one looked pretty good with many pizzas to choose from. There was a € 1.50 cover charge each which was expected AND a €1 bread charge. We always notice the add ins before deciding to eat somewhere as cover charges and service charges add up... More
