Polite service, good food

We came here for dinner after we got off a ferry ride from positano. Other restaurants were closed until 7pm and since this was one that was open and not too far off the main way, we decided to give it a try. We sat at a table outside and it took awhile for the waiter to come greet us... read more

Reading some of the previous reviews now, wish I had before I went there, I nodded my head in agreement as I read “ rude waiter, disappointing service, when we questioned the waiter, he merely shrugged his shoulders and said that was their policy, this is a classic tourist trap ! Looks nice with a good location. But the service... More

Beautiful food and our favourite of all the restaurants in the Il Doumo. the waiting staff could not do enough for us, and requesting our favourite table was never an issue. I can't wait to get back to Amalfi next year and the Locanda del Marinaio will be our first port of call for that evenings dinner. Please support the... More

We just walked in because the menu looked good. We waited a long time to get waited on. It was not even busy. When they did finally come over they were rude. The food was ok not what I expected.

Should have realized that hearing all the English could only mean one thing...restaurant full of tour group! Regardless, we enjoyed a nice caprese salad & pizza. The restaurant is quite small so tables were very close.

Avoid this place, the food is ok but the service is terrible. My friend and I popped in for lunch and ordered one pizza to share. We were told this wasn't allowed. When we asked why the waiter could offer no reason, shrugged his shoulders and just said it was a restaurant. I would even go as far to say... More

This place looked nicer and somehow less touristy than all the others so we dined there and are very happy with our decision. The decor is nice as is the ambiance. Our waiter, who turned out to be from Poland, was excellent. We split grilled wild octopus as an appetizer. It was beautifully presented and tasted great. The plate was... More

This little osteria is unobtrusively tucked away on the right hand side of Amalfi's main drag, but punches well above its weight. We wanted an early and fairly quick lunch and opted for the €20 menu, which was excellent value and included a heavenly bresaola starter, a wonderfully fishy paccheri pasta (not for the faint hearted) and a crisply fried... After a terrible meal at a local restaurant in Pergola. This was fantastic and well worth the money. Food and wine were great and all of the waiters were very friendly and helpful. We had the chanti and it was a lovely wine.

This is a busy restaurant - we never found out why. When we APPROACHED the doorway to ask about a table, the waiter didn't even bother to come to see or talk to us - he just crossed his arms and walked away, even though there were empty tables and it wasn't late.
