I was initially attracted by the nice clean interior look of the restaurant, the varied menu and ok prices. Passing by one evening we decided to reserve a table. We were to return after 20 mins. On our return there was a queue outside the restaurant, and I was pleased to have made that reservation. When I attempted to enter... More

We visited Il Tari after reading the positive description on Fodors - I now will give pause to further suggestions from this guide book. Despite the reasonable prices, especially for Amalfi (EUR20 for 3 courses and plenty of decent, cheap, local wine) it is not worth it, and may be the worst dinner in Italy after 8 days here. We... Very disappointing. An overly salty spaghetti alla bolognese, an insipid sauce. My wife had an equally uninspiring salald consisting of iceberg lettuce tinned tuna and tomatoes.

After reviewing and looking at a number of the Trip Advisor Amalfi restaurants we passed Il Tari and saw no waiting line which was the nrm fr the threenprevious nights here. A lucky night. This quaint and small restaurant serves wonderful food, and the wait staff is very attentive for such a busy place. They help each other out so... More

I can't comment on the food on this restaurant as we left before ordering. We entered one open door to be told rudely by the waiter that we had to wait at the queue at the other door. Fair enough, but hadn't seen a queue on entering. One couple behind us in the line, presumably locals, we're ushered in before... More

Our last night in Amalfi ended sadly poor in terms of dining experience. We expected good food, but the whole experience was like a tourist trap. Poor service from a somewhat disinterested waiter, who almost thought we were a bit stupid that chose something from the menu that he did not suggest. I ordered minestrone soup, which is the worst... I ate at Il Tari when I stayed in Amalfi two years ago and had a fabulous meal, because of this we returned on our trip this year but unfortunately it let me down. The service was extremely slow and the waiters were abrupt. Our starters were really nice and the wine we chose was good, however I ordered Carbonara... More

I went for lunch and I had a perfect unaspected turistic menu: First course + second course + salad + sweet = 20 €! I had perfect gnocchi and My husband a Great spaghetti with mussles; orata fish and checken scallop. The sweet was perfect! After 10 day in Amalfi coast, I Wondered coz the portions were very Big! We went here for the first meal of our Italian holiday. We had 6 people in our party and wanted to try as many items as possible. At the fourth order of a different pasta, the server became very rude. He pretty much told the last person that she would have to pick one of the previously ordered items. The... More
