This restaurant is centrally located. We found it unremarkable. I had a lamb dish that was 60% bone. Decent red wine.

Got there late at night after reading good reviews. Located right in the center of the old city. Good value for money, interesting dishes and good food. Wanted to return but didn't get the chance to... Would definitely recommend.

Our hotel recommended this restaurant for lunch and it was very pleasant. The waiter was relaxed and attentive and helped us with a choice of wine which we really enjoyed. We just had pasta, and were a bit surprised to find carrot, where we would have expected tomato. No matter. Most of the customers sat at the rear of the... More

Matera in March is fairly quiet. There are visitors but many of the restaurants are not open. We called into the Palazzo Gattino where we told that their restaurant was not open but the receptionist recommended La Gatta Buia. The restaurant was empty but we were welcomed in. The waiter explained that the menu was restricted. However we shared a... More

This restaurant came highly recommended and it was a huge dissapointment. The waitstaff is cold and seem to talk behind your back. The appetizer mix plate was overpriced. It had a good soufflé but the rice tasted like dry leftovers. The pastas were bland and the meat sauce was chewy. Overall a very pretentious overpriced restaurant. They have an Osterie... More

Dear Pauline, very honestly do not remember when she was in our restaurant but if this was his experience I'm very sorry. I want to clarify that they are not an avid fan of tripadvisor and I explain why: You talk about leftovers and I ask you: if you ate leftovers me explain why it has not stopped the waiters... More

This restaurant is in a great location. Especially if you just want to meet someone for a drink. Food and service is excellent. Wine list is fabulous. You can sit inside or outside. Has a great indoor bar area.

Ate dinner inside near the bar with a view of the swinging kitchen door on a cool night and had an average meal at an average price. I am not a fan of casual seating that borders on cafeteria style, however, the owner/server was pleasant, fluent in English, made good suggestions for our meal and the basic food was decent.... The setting of this restaurant is gorgeous with a beautiful church to gaze at while you eat outside and perhaps music drifting from the conservatorio nearby. Really enjoyed the lemon risotto
