Nice local/traditional food, but the four course meal is just too much! Love the family feel. Located in the lower streets of the old city.

We enjoyed Baccus very much. In a town of touristy restaurants, this one feels more authentic. The lasagna and the roast chicken were to die for.

Staff at L'Hotel in Pietra recommended this place. We arrived quite late and without a booking. Not a problem. A charming waiter seats us at a large table on the outside terrace. We order and quickly receive a bottle of local white wine and mineral water. The wine is delicious, as it should be with a namesake like Baccus. For... More

We stayed at the Hotel Nazionale in September 14 and the receptionist suggested a few local restaurants including Ristorante Baccus which we tried first. We weren't disappointed. Its a 20-25 minute stroll from the hotel and situated on the edge of the Sasso Barisano. We sat outside looking up at the lights of the Sasso. Quite magical. Service was brisk... More

We had a wonderful dinner with excellent wine and I've never had a more professional waiter!!! He was alone and kept everything under control, no waits, no wants!!! Recommend this restaurant to all those who enjoy good food and excellent service! Not to mention the excellent wine of this region!!!

We were recommended to this restaurant by the staff at L'Hotel in Pietra, and we were not disappointed. The only negative comment I have is not directed just at this restaurant, but at all Italian restaurants that I have used generally; they do not serve vegetables as part of the meal. You might be offered boild or grilled vegetables -... More

It's so hard to have an unpleasant restaurant experience in Italy, however, for value and ambience this ranked as one of the very best in our three week journey. If you stick to our maxim in Italy, peasant food, peasant wine and peasant prices, you will very rarely go wrong and make a meal of tomatoes in season, they are... More

Food very good but above all very attentive service. This is mainly thanks to one of the (the most experienced) waiters. Very professional and friendly. We had the anti pasti, the lamb chops and orechiete with tomatoe sauce.

Best meal we had in our three week tour of Italy! The chef came out and gave us free dessert and a type of lemonchello made with tangerines that he made himself. The rose wine was incredible! We stumbled home and had the best sex ever! Highly recommend! Gluten free - no problem, they made us gluten free pasta! Go,... More

I asked Lucia, the wonderful receptionist at our stunning hotel (L’Hotel in Pietra), to recommend a few restaurants that have the best authentic regional menu and that are not popular with tourists. Among the three she recommended was Baccus Ristorante, which is just down the hill from the hotel. We took her suggestion and had two superb meals there. The... More
