We wanted a simple meal and this place provided a robust and very tasty cold antipasto plate with a grilled side dish and good house wine at a very reasonable price. Located in one of the typical cliff homes of Matera, this restuarant was very nicely decorated with antiques and had good ambiamce.

I really enjoyed this little restaurant and recommend it. It was just as good as a more highly rated restaurant up the street Trattoria del Caveoso that we ate at a night earlier. The restaurant wasn't very busy so the service was excellent and pleasant. The food and ambiance were very good. We tried a number of dishes and they... More

Very good food quality and variety of choice. We asked for ingredients in one stew recipe and wew were told there was no special ingredient. It was instead full of pepper which we couldn't eat. Little disappointing but very good place overall.

Good food in a quaint little spot... I enjoyed a nice salad and pizza with veggies. Small dining room with just room for a few tables. Owner was very friendly and helpful.

Friendly place with a terrace that looks out across the gorge. Family friendly and good food, we enjoyed the rump steak and pasta with beans and mussels. Cheaper and more laidback than the other Matera restaurant we tried but food just as good.

if your visit happens in the Spring, you must order the artichokes. Braised and totally tender and delicious. Good house wines. Nice atmosphere. Many locals.

We were in Matera in November when everything is pretty quiet. The owner of our B&B recommended this restaurant and we were not disappointed. Very simple but refined atmosphere, and the food to go along with it.

Good homestyle cooking with typical regional dishes. Especially nice dining on the spacious terrace with a good look over the environment; in high season be sure to reserve a table.

Not so bad for this kind of somewhat touristic restaurants. Matera has a lot of them. The setting is lovely, waiters are just perfect, but as for the food, I was REALLY dispointed by the pizzas ! Some people will tell me that I shouldn't have taken pizzas since we are in Matera not in Naples but in this case... More

My favourite dish of the trip was a lunch pasta at I Due Sassi, a very unprepossessing trattoria just up the road from Hotel Sant’ Angelo with good hospitality. We wandered in after our big walk around the town, hungry and tired and a little worried that we were the only guests. We were given four deep-fried balls of dough... More
