You have to try a special pizza they prepare: the pizza which base is made with Grano Arso (burnt wheat) which is very much typical of this region. that's simply sublime! However the other typical dishes are not the best in town: we were deceived by the peperoni cruschi (fried peppers, not hot) and the fave e cicoria (mashed fava... More

Altho they consider steak a specialty, we have never liked the cut of meat served in southern Italy nor how it is (not) trimmed, so I was skeptical when my husband orded the steak with balsamic sauce. It was not inexpensive, but it was tender and delicious. I would rather pay more for a flavorful, tender and memorable piece of... More

Very nice people and great food, I loved the antipasti and the tartuffo frittata. Also nice and cosy that the curious and sympatic house cat comes to say hello :-)

This was the second time we ate at this restaurant. We first chose it purely because it was near our hotel. However it remains our favourite. It is situated outdoors with very simple tables and chairs. Plenty of things going on and the bustle and activity kept our attention. All I can say is that you won't be let down... More

We sat on the terrace at the back of the restaurant on a warm evening watching the lights come on around the buildings and the tower we could see from our table. Good food, friendly service.

It was very close to our hotel so we gave it a go. Sat in their outside area which was quite extensive and a good place to eat - in the Sassi area - it is a really good location. We got a mixed antipasti which was quite filling - and then a bruschetta. The food was good but not... More

The food was very average and the service no better. Of the four of us there no one had a meal they would have again and no one ate more than half their meal. We left and went back to Nadi for coffee and dessert.

I recently traveled throughout Sicily and southern Italy with a friend, and we ate at several restaurants along the way. While La Talpa wasn't flawless, we both agreed that it was undoubtedly the best meal we had during our trip. We started with an appetizer sampler, which turned out to be a tapas of salads and vegetables. The sampler, along... More

We tried the chef's special, green peppercorn steak with a side of roasted potatoes on the same plate, pizza, and pasta for the kids. We tried a red wine anglianico from the menu - fantastic. This restaurant is very large inside but go early (7:30-8:00 pm) or make a reservation as it fills up around 8:30 or 9.

We were excited about the vegetarian anti-pasto platter we'd ordered. I explicitly checked with two different waiters if it really was vegetarian. I was therefore very disappointed/annoyed when two of the dishes had meat (the eggplant dish had prosciutto, the omelette had some other kind of meat). When we told a third waitress (it's a HUGE restaurant, lots of waiters)... More
