Excellent

Treated us great. Worked hard to help us in English. Nice local wines 20 euro or less. Nice fillet steak. Nice pastas and typical salads. Tried grappas with fantastic chocolate cake. Would definitely recommend.

This restaurant is the real deal! Our lovely Matera hostess recommended this amazing restaurant in one of the local caves. The ambience had a really nice minimalistic touch, very chic place with modern decoration. But the food... It was really one of our best experiences in Italy (Nd we come quite often!!!). Local specialities, to be honest, didn't look as... More

We had dinner here on the first evening, during our visit to Sassi di Matera. The service was very good, also the food suggestions were very much appreciated. Good wine selection. Very nice staff.

At first, I was fearing we got into one of those places where looks were more important than quality but I was happy to find myself wrong! The service is very good despite us being seated in the upper room, staff was nice and food very good. I had stracciatella cheese and maltagliati with cod. Both were excellent. The price... More

The meal here was the best we had in Matera, the pasta was perfectly cooked and served by polite and cheerful staff. We also had a fantastic desert, one of the very best, it was the lemon cake, more of a cheesecake but totally delicious. The loved the cave and the atmosphere, we were on the top mezzanine floor and... More

Warm welcome, excellent food, attentive and smiling service, fair wine list, bright and cozy location. Definetely to recommend for a fine dinner. Not expensive. Don't miss the pasta and the desserts.

A very nice restaurant but why oh why must they have such extremely bright and undimmable lighting..? To us it makes no sense to have a cave restaurant without soft lighting and candles on the tables. This partially spoiled what could and should be a very romantic restaurant. We began with the 5 portion anti-pasta (E16) which was very good... More

The side dishes were all disappointing, the fried potatoes came as crisps (admittedly freshly made) but still not what we expected and the sautéed vegetables were just wilted chicory. The grilled vegetables had more variety but were very thinly sliced and bland. Having said this the antipasti were lovely and the ravioli was delicious. The sliced beef was also exceptional....
