Reasonable

We ate here on our first night in Matera and were pleasantly surprised. It is right in the tourist area and we had been told not to expect too much but it was quite reasonable, both with respect to food quality and price. The food was simple but very tasty – bean soup, pasta, beef, and fresh... read more

This was just below our apartment and as we couldn't check in for a while we sat and had lunch, I was originally put off by the crowds of organised tourist groups being shipped in in their droves, don't be put off tho, the food is excellent and the owner very nice to everyone, large or small and I am... We were taken here by our tour operator. It is a cave restaurant in Matera. The meal started out with 9 antipasta dishes only one of which had meat in it. Our vegetarian member were quite pleased. Included were sun dried tomatoes, nicely grilled eggplant, zucchini, a sort of bread ball in tomato sauce, a barley dish, etc. The dishes... More

I enjoyed my meal very much. I had a chicken and aubergine dish which was very tasty indeed. I also had the oven baked potatoes which were yummy. I also had the beets and tomato and the portion was extremely generous and the taste was great. My husband had a typical pasta dish, strascinati with anchovies and cime di rapa... More

One of the primary reasons I traveled to Matera was to eat as much local food as possible. I left Nadi as my final dinner and it was definitely the best meal I had, both in value and quality. Their staff was extremely polite and spoke workable English, although I tried to order in Italian as much as possible. At... More

Another cave liked restaurant, serves good food.. Interesting menu, what caught our eyes was they have horse ribs on their menu..Especially enjoyed their steak with black truffles... Absolutely delicious! Value for money based on the amount of truffles they served over the steak. Approx 18 euro.

Our tour guide recommended this place for lunch and she was right, the food was delicious. We sat outside and had a very pleasant time. Two courses each plus contorno, coffee, bread, water and a Coke and an Aperol Spritz was 49.00 euro. My husband had a cheese plate to start while I had a Caprese salad, next he had... More

Worth finding this restaurant located in one of the quiet streets of old Matera. We had Carpaccio with arugula and Parmesan. It was excellent and then we had Truffle risotto which was also excellent. Highly recommend.
