Popular with locals

Adequate food. Excellent wine list. Not the cheapest place on Via Fiorentina, but OK. Popular with locals and tour groups. Very efficient service.

We tried to eat here for lunch but the outside was completely full so we returned in the evening . We were given a menu and my first choice was unavailable. We ordered two pasta dishes from disinterested waiters and they didn't even ask if we enjoyed the meal. I told the maitre de I didn't like the pasta dish... More

the place to be for real italian food, at an honest price. When the weather permits, the terras, streetside, is the perfect location for a familie diner. Try the local wines that the owner suggests. In colder days, eating inside the cave, is a thing to remember. So, good and honest food, nice people and great surroundings. Experience a real... More

This was just below our apartment and as we couldn't check in for a while we sat and had lunch, I was originally put off by the crowds of organised tourist groups being shipped in in their droves, don't be put off tho, the food is excellent and the owner very nice to everyone, large or small and I am... We ate here on our first night in Matera and were pleasantly surprised. It is right in the tourist area and we had been told not to expect too much but it was quite reasonable, both with respect to food quality and price. The food was simple but very tasty – bean soup, pasta, beef, and fresh fruit salad. The... More

We were taken here by our tour operator. It is a cave restaurant in Matera. The meal started out with 9 antipasta dishes only one of which had meat in it. Our vegetarian member were quite pleased. Included were sun dried tomatoes, nicely grilled eggplant, zucchini, a sort of bread ball in tomato sauce, a barley dish, etc. The dishes... More

I enjoyed my meal very much. I had a chicken and aubergine dish which was very tasty indeed. I also had the oven baked potatoes which were yummy. I also had the beets and tomato and the portion was extremely generous and the taste was great. My husband had a typical pasta dish, strascinati with anchovies and cime di rapa... More

One of the primary reasons I traveled to Matera was to eat as much local food as possible. I left Nadi as my final dinner and it was definitely the best meal I had, both in value and quality. Their staff was extremely polite and spoke workable English, although I tried to order in Italian as much as possible. At... More
