Above average

A good, above average trattoria. The porcini and truffle fettuccine brought us back two nights running. A bit chaotic if they are busy, which is most of the time, but charming service nonetheless.

We went to this place for lunch and get back for dinner, testing both the pasta and the meat. The steak was what really impressed me most since I cannot easily recall something so tender and juicy. Hints: - make a reservation, they're always busy

Had lunch outside there. Food was nice but nothing special. The restaurant was very busy due to large tourist groups eating there (not great for the atmosphere) and service was slow as a consequence. Truffle tagliatelle we ate was nice but a bit too oily and the truffle was not very high quality. Good but should try harder.

.... the food could indeed be better. We had though an excellent Aglianico wine that was the real discovery. The waiters were focused in trying to please us but it was not a genuine attitude. All in all a decent finding but I am sure that Matera can offer more.

After the reviews on here I was really looking forward to this meal. We did not book but went early to get a table. We were lucky. But after that things just went wrong. It took forty minutes to take the food and drinks order, three times one of the waiting staff came up to us and asked have you... More

As gluten intolerant I was happily surprised that I could eat pasta and a desert. Both were yummy. My partner ate the specials of the night (got a tris of pasta) which was sublime, but a bit too heavy. The service is kind, but the restaurant is not very silent or cozy if you want a romantic dinner.

Small but unique restaurant in the Matera caves valley. You will find outstanding territory products. Very good service, coordinated by the gentle host. I suggest to taste the appetizers (local cheese dish or vegetabes dish). Very good the pasta's menu, where you'll find, apart from the list, a "special of the day". I tasted the "paccheri with caciotta, pistacchi e... More

Sat at a table outside, dishes (and specials) explained in detail. The antipasti was out of this world - especially the vegetarian dishes. Clever little dishes that all had a radically different falvour. House wine is good and the pasta dishes full of flavour. Orecchietti with sausage and mushrooms was faultless - fennel in sausage was a surprise but perfect.... More

we ate here as it was recommended by our hotel. We had bean soup starter and the Cod Bacola and Tagilata. There were also spcials on offer. All were good with good service and resonance price. It was very busy with a large Q waiting for table so I suggest that you reserve or go early. We would go back.

Love this place. It's small -- maybe 12 tables -- and authentic, with a jumble of local art old and new along with clippings of futball triumphs. In other words, not stuffy. Try the mixed antipasta for two (or more) -- a memorable and impressive sampling of local artiginale specialities - a plate of local meats, another of cheeses, and... More
