Great food and so allergy friendly

Six of us dined there in mid March, my wife who has gluten and lactose intolerance phoned a number of restaurants in the area. Many of the restaurants use pre-made food so could not accommodate my wife's needs however Phil (owner) and the head chef went out their way to ensure my wife was offered a... read more

I have driven through Long Itchington many times and enjoyed seeing the duck pond and thought that it might be nice to eat at the pub/restaurant that overlooks it. I was wrong. As we walked in we found ourselves in a large open bar which was quite noisy with the regulars talking to each other across the room - no... More

Dear Roger, thank you for taking the time to write a review. I am very sorry the experience was not what you may have hoped for. You raise a few issues which I will address: 1) The fact that the restaurant is fairly open plan to the bar and the consequent conversation noise levels from the bar to restaurant. I... More

The owner of this pub/restaurant was extremely helpful and accommodating could not fault the service. However, the food was a little disappointing unfortunately. Although nicely presented it lacked taste and was typical of the pre packaged, lets warm up and present dinners now available at most eating establishments these days. Home cooked and home prepared would have set this place... More

Dear Judgedr, Thank you for taking the time and trouble to write a review. We have, as we promise, made a donation to MacMillan Cancer Support. Chef has seen and noted all you comments about the food. All our food is home prepared and cooked. The beef, as are all out meat joints, is roasted on the premises and hand... More

took my dad here for a meal tonight and it was lovely. had salmon with cullen skink, wich was an unusual combination. very tasty. what made the experience the best was the waitress who as well as looking after the bar was very attentive to our needs. Her smile made it a very pleasant experience all round

Roast beef was ok, if a little lackluster. Potatoes weren't crispy, beef was thin, as was the gravy. Veg was plain boiled. Nothing outstanding. However, the service was good.

Visited this lovely little pub for the 1st time this evening and had their set priced valentines menu. From the moment we walked through the door we were looked after by the very friendly bar/waiting staff who were more than helpful for the entire evening. Our meal was lovely and very well presented, we can't wait to go again and... More

Very welcoming. An unusual (shape and decor) dining room for a village pub - and they even use tablecloths! We were there on a Saturday evening (having made a reservation) and quite a few of the tables were reserved. Menu was unexciting and prices pretty average. I agree with others that the only wines available were a little pricey for... More

Visited the Duck on the Pond over Christmas period. Service was excellent with all staff very helpful and accommodating. Good quality food served attractively. Wine a touch on the expensive side, but no mor them similar establishments. Stick to shorts! Will definitely visit for birthday meal next month.

Dear Tony, Thank you for taking the time and trouble to write a review. Your favourable comments are much appreciated. Wine prices?? I can see if we can tweak them a little but don't want to compromise on quality - so we will stick to good wines. We look forward to seeing you again. Phil More

This was our first time visiting here. A traditional pub with an open fire serving good food. The staff are friendly and the service is good. As it was Sunday we chose the roast. I chose pork which came with crackling and apple sauce. The vegetables are served on a separate dish so you can help yourself. For dessert, I... More
