Booked for a lunchtime. Our first visit and will definitely return. Service was attentive throughout, without being overbearing. This was extremely helpful because we had important business matters to discuss over lunch and did not want to be continually interrupted - however well-meant! Sat down at 12.45pm and didn't leave the table until 4.30pm during which time we were simply... More

I didn't organise this function. The food was very good, plenty of it and done well. Excellent choice of wines and I loved the dessert!

Once by chance for lunch. Ate outside in the pleasant 'rustic' garden because there was no room inside.....so suggest booking. That was no problem as it was a nice day. Food was a complete surprise.......very different,a treat and although not cheap was very good vfm. Excellent service and attitude

The Red Lion and its Troutbeck Guest House are in a class apart. Every, last, detail need has been anticipated from the underfloor heating in the bathroom and the helpful night lights that enable one to nip to the ‘loo without disturbing one’s partner to the gloriously comfortable super-king size bed with its fine linen. We had already heard about... More

Although expensive, the food was to die for. We had the daub of beef and it just melted in the mouth and the flavours really got the taste buds going :) We would definitely go again if we were back in the area.

I've been to this place several times now finding out about it through a friend. The owners have really transformed this place and the end product is a Michelin starred pub/restaurant that is modest about it's achievements. Some dishes are better than others in my opinion however I have never had a bad supper there yet; quite the opposite in... More

We went there for dinner, breakfast and an overnight stay. The service is impeccable and unassumingly friendly. The ub is a proper pub. Lots of dogs, kids, families. The meal was surprisingly reasonable for the quality - as good as, but less than I paid a few days earlier at my favourite Italian, Sardo. A very good wine list, reasonably... More

First of all, covering the accommodation in the Troutbeck Guesthouse 50 yards down the road, this is one of the most delightful, well thought out en suite setups my wife and I have experienced; only 5 luxury rooms within a bungalow style building, all with decking and views of the River Avon a short stone's throw away. Brittany seems to... More

Read no more reviews. Search no more restaurants. If you have got this far, all that remains is for you to click "email, pick-up the phone". This place, its people, their food and drink is exceptional. Its a little off the beaten track, but don't let that put you off. That's almost a benefit in itself. Your sat nav will... More

We visited for my husband's 40th as a party of 14 although I had initially booked for 10. The staff couldn't have been more accommodating and we all squished up quite happily. We were made to feel very welcome. I was slightly worried that it may have been a little snooty but i am pleased to say that it was... More
