Like all the restaurants by Malvarosa beach, it feels great to eat right on the beach. La Pepica is famous, apparently Hemingway used to be a regular. However, like many famous places, they tend to live off their fame. We had seafood paella which made me wish we had gone somewhere else.

Very slow and inattentive service, platter of crustacean, was suspiciously frozen shrimps and lobster. Lobster half raw, and when calling attention 4 times I gave up ordered a paella, which was ok. We were a group of 10 and all had similar feel and quality, an experienced group. Prices high, and some extras the bill, corrected. Tourist trap and waste of... More

We went for lunch twice the same week as a group of 8. Both times we had a Paella Valenciana. And of course it was delicious. It is a typical classical spanish restaurant. It is loud and very busy. But you will love it.

Location overlooking the beach is spectacular, however the service and food wasn't anything special. Rubbery calamari and dry stake bread. Paella was decent and way too much for us to eat. Give me less and charge me less please

Spanish hustle and bustle... while sitting on a shaded terrace you have great views of the beach. Enjoy!

I expected more of a restaurant that Hemmingway used years ago but times change and I suspect he would not recognise it now.I feel it would have been more intimate. We ate in the large covered terrace on proper tables and chairs(not plastic) and were efficiently served but the staff didn't connect too much. It was a very busy restaurant... More

Management response:

Mr.Tony: we are so sad for your experience at our restaurant. Only say that we are in the same place as when Mr.Hemingway used to visit us, and with the same intimacy level. Perhaps we had inadvertently transmitted to you a sense of urgency to reuse your table, quite far from our real intention. We are very sorry for your... More

This restaurant has a prime location, being one of the first you come to when you arrive at the beach. It has a lovely outdoor area as well as a vast interior, and it's on the pricier side of mid-range. We ordered a pescadito frito, which was a strange mix of fried whitebait (nice) and another fish that had very... More
