The best paella in town

When in Valencia city centre, the best place for a paella is Casa Ricardo. It is out of the tourist "circuit" and customers are usually Valencians. It is the right place for business and/or family lunches. The menu is full of traditional "tapas". All of them are fine. Service is exquisite and very... read more

Paella was pretty greasy and had poorly prepped and flavoured snails, as well as no discernable rabbit. The bigger problem was the pushy waiters who try to rush you into ordering more than you want, pretending there is no menu or that they misunderstood you. This is also the only restaurant in Spain I've ever had add the 10% IVA... More

At check In, I asked the concierge to recommend a paella restaurant, since Valencia is the birth place of paella. She recommended Casa Roberto, which was a short walk away. What a great recommendation! We ordered the seafood paella for 4, and also had gambas in garlic and fried calamare for starters. The starters were great. The sauce that the... More

This is the best paella you will get in the city centre. Paellas traditionally must be eaten near the sea or at home on a Sunday but Casa Roberto has been highlighted in the Spanish press as being the one exception. You must book in advance and let them know what paella you are having. We chose the traditional paella... More

Casa Roberto is the best place that serve paella in Valencia or perhaps in Spain. I only tried paella with sea food. The staff is very lovely as well. Must visit when in Valencia.

Went there with 6 friends and reserved in advance; we were told this place was great if you want an authentic paella, which Valencia should be known for. First we had some starters - calamares, puntillas, jamon - all of which are typically Spanish and very tasty, really. Then came the paella. They advised us to take one for 5... More

We were recommended the Casa Roberto by our taxi driver when we arrived in Valencia. She asked us if we preferred easy beachgoing with a paella by the beach, or if we were willing to spend a little more. We figured since this is a special trip from California to Spain for us, that we would spend a little more.... More

You just gotta have paella in Valencia, and Casa Roberto is the place to go. It was the best and most authentic paella we have had during our 3+ weeks stay in Spain. Do call ahead of time to make a reservation and pre-order the paella. There are different kinds and we ordered the seafood one. It was not cheap... More
