Ok paella, definitely not the best, and pushy staff.

My husband and I had dinner at this place on a saturday evening. The place already had a few customers when we arrived, but we were still sat promptly. We ordered a paella valenciana, and were warned that it would take about 40 mins to cook, which we were expecting, so that wasn't a problem. But... read more

This is a great restaurant and deserves its high ranking. The staff don't speak much English but were charming and helpful. The food was delicious and the place packed with locals. Not the cheapest but we thought it was good value as the whole experience very enjoyable.

Located right near Quart Gates (from gates - 1st one is bar, 2nd premices in 50m - restaurant). Always fully packed, reservation in advance is a must. Right choice for those who require more that simple paella and tapas. Tried degustation menu EUR18pp (3 entrantes per person, large paella for 2 with shrimps and tiny bits of squid + several... My husband and I visited Valencia in 2010, and were introduced to Canela? We live in Sweden. This year, for my husband's 65th birthday celebration, he could choose to go for dinner anywhere we have enjoyed in our past He chose Canela! We were welcomed with open arms by everyone, especially Jose and Yanice who took pleasure in explaining the Chef's... More

Good services, good food. Much cheaper than the restaurants in Barcelona. Recommend the Black rice with baby squid.

Amazing paella, for me the best in Valencia by far! Kindly staff, good octopus. The restaurant is haunted by Valencian people, so you know that you're in the right place!

We are traveling throughout southern Spain and did not want to have any Paella till we reach the city where paella was born....and believe me....really worthwhile. Its a relatively small tavern, but it gets busy and full very fast. We had to wait half an hr for the Valencia Paella which is cooked when you order it....absolutely delicious...Make sure you... One of the best and biggest meals we have ever eaten! We chose the special menu (canela en rama) which cost around €21 per person and it was amazing. First off they brought us some wonderful homemade bread and a little seafood croquet while we were waiting. Then a huge plate of ham, followed by some roasted red peppers stuffed... More

We read about “Canela” from other TP members, so we decided to try it and we can say that it’s really worthwhile! Food quality, service and kindness are at the top! We suggest to try, at least once, one of the superlative “paellas” cooked at the moment (you have to wait about 30/35 minutes..) We went there twice during our... More
