This little restaurant in the old town of Valencia is a real gem! The staff is very nice. The menu is small and the dishes are delicious! Try the seafood salad which is served in cocos milk, delicious! And the best of all is the tuna steak with wasabi souce. The house wine was good as well. You are also... More

A very good restaurant with a limited, but creative menu. A welcomed break in the city of a thousand paellas (that all taste about the same). The service was charming but a bit slow, we waited about 15 minutes to get the menu when we first sat. The food is tasty, well presented but with a few rough edges, for... More

We went in the day as the restaurant doesn't open till late in the night, we had the menu de dai, would have to be the best and most interesting in Valencia. Paco interpreted the menu and we both had a different selection for entree and dessert and same main. Entree: Mussels and patatas done in a lovely pimento sauce... More

You would probably pass this gem of a restaurant by if you didn't know it was there but what a tragedy that would be. Probably the best price menu del dia in the Old City, the food is to die for. Whilst the menu isn't extensive the food itself is always amazing. A must visit restaurant in the Carmen district!

We went there for diner on sunday night based on the recommendations on our hotel and were not disappointed! The food (modern mediterranean/fusion food) was delicious and a welcomed change after 2 days of tapas/paella, the staff was super friendly and the wine (recommended by our waiter) was very nice as well. It was from far the best food and... More

This charming little place is a culinary journey. I have been a couple of times and both times I have been happily surprised by the combination of flavors. The most creative cuisine I've tried inside and outside of Spain. Paco and Rocio, the owners, are very friendly... Let them guide you through the menu.

We arrived here for lunch, just after the restaurant opened, at 14:00. The athmosphere is fantastic, with hindu paintings and 60's music. The food is even better, especially all mushroom varieties. We had a 3 cause lunch menu (12 euros) - all home-made. The white house-wine was great. Plates are a mix between spanish and indian food, all very fresh.

We followed the advice of our fellow travelers on Trip Advisor and visited Refugio during our first night in Valencia. It was an amazing find in the streets of Carmen and quickly became the standard by which all future restaurants were measured during our stay. The presentation, combinations, flavors and taste of the food was truly unique and supremely satisfying.... More

We decided to try out this restaurant on our last night in Valencia. It is hidden down a small street and is quite hard to find but definitely worth seeking out. You are warmly welcomed to this small cozy restaurant and it has a very homely feel. The food is such a refreshing change from the standard tapas and paella... More

We found this restaurant by chance two years ago, and searched for it again this time, finding it by luck. Both times we had the menu del dia, which was perhaps a little more expensive than elsewhere but still great value because what you get is really excellent and a little out of the ordinary with an interesting mix of...
