Excellent Grilled Squid

Affordable no-nonsense tapas style dishes, and good wine selection. Had a local Valencian wine and it was amazing. The grilled squid was superb and we left El Molinon full to the brim. Lovely place, kind host, great food.

Strolled into Sidreria El Molinon for lunch mid-week. Enjoyed a great bottle of dry house cider (€5) and 2 tapas. I strongly recommend the clams if they have them on the menu. They are very fresh and come in a very light citrus, garlic and butter sauce. I would come back and try more of the tapas and something off... More

Go to Sidreria el Molinon for their delicious barrel cider, their impressive cheese plate (including some very powerful blue cheeses!) and their relaxed, rustic atmosphere. Tapas are of good quality and in generous proportions, but not very original or gastronomic. House desserts are very good-especially the arroz con leche.

Mid January we moved into this small eatery in the old city. It is a good spot for a small or big meal. We kept it small: smoked anchofishes, grilled squid and a house salad. Together with a tasty Rueda white wine it was an excellent combination to make our day complete. The staff is very friendly and if you... More

We arrived in Valencia on a late train. This Sidreria was nearby our hostel. It ended up being a great find. At 11:00pm it was full and we had to wait half an hour for a table as it was packed with locals. The wait was worth it. The Sidre (cider) was nice and dry; completely unlike typical commercial ciders.... More

I am addicted to sidra and there are not many places in Valencia that serve sidra so I come to Molinon for that. Apart from the cabrales with sidra the food in my opinion is average. I am struck by how many foreigners come here. Surprised because really a sidreria like this is an Asturian custom and Asturias does not... More

recommended by a local ( always an optimistic sign) this busy little bar with its slate clad interior exudes a modern edge but, is at heart a traditional and very good value destination with a wide selection of tapas freely available in other bars but interspersed by more exotic and interesting culinary excursions. I particularly enjoyed the scrambled eggs with... More

El Molinón is a tasca (very small eating place) where you can eat like king, drink like cossack and have a wonderful evening with your friends / familie. The food is first quality, at a reasonable price. Their speciality in drinks, as an Asturian tasca, is apple cidre, which you end up drinking more than your fair share, but it... More

Wonderful hams, salami and cheeses. Wines by the glass or bottle to compliment. Fresh and tasty salads, soups and home baking. After engaging in a conversation about the various hams and wines, the owner prepared us a selection of locally produced meats. Really enjoyed our experience for a very honest and affordable price too. Really excellent value. Small and informal... More

Proper little "hole-in-the-wall" bar serving excellent selection of quality tapas and of course, sidra (as well as wine and beer). Service unsophisticated, but efficient and friendly. Lively atmosphere and one out/one in queue outside in later part of evening.
