Mid January we moved into this small eatery in the old city. It is a good spot for a small or big meal. We kept it small: smoked anchofishes, grilled squid and a house salad. Together with a tasty Rueda white wine it was an excellent combination to make our day complete. The staff is very friendly and if you... More

We arrived in Valencia on a late train. This Sidreria was nearby our hostel. It ended up being a great find. At 11:00pm it was full and we had to wait half an hour for a table as it was packed with locals. The wait was worth it. The Sidre (cider) was nice and dry; completely unlike typical commercial ciders.... More

I am addicted to sidra and there are not many places in Valencia that serve sidra so I come to Molinon for that. Apart from the cabrales with sidra the food in my opinion is average. I am struck by how many foreigners come here. Surprised because really a sidreria like this is an Asturian custom and Asturias does not... More

recommended by a local ( always an optimistic sign) this busy little bar with its slate clad interior exudes a modern edge but, is at heart a traditional and very good value destination with a wide selection of tapas freely available in other bars but interspersed by more exotic and interesting culinary excursions. I particularly enjoyed the scrambled eggs with... More

El Molinón is a tasca (very small eating place) where you can eat like king, drink like cossack and have a wonderful evening with your friends / familie. The food is first quality, at a reasonable price. Their speciality in drinks, as an Asturian tasca, is apple cidre, which you end up drinking more than your fair share, but it... More

Wonderful hams, salami and cheeses. Wines by the glass or bottle to compliment. Fresh and tasty salads, soups and home baking. After engaging in a conversation about the various hams and wines, the owner prepared us a selection of locally produced meats. Really enjoyed our experience for a very honest and affordable price too. Really excellent value. Small and informal... More

Proper little "hole-in-the-wall" bar serving excellent selection of quality tapas and of course, sidra (as well as wine and beer). Service unsophisticated, but efficient and friendly. Lively atmosphere and one out/one in queue outside in later part of evening.

We decided to try this restaurant after reading about it in the Lonely Planet guide. It's located off the tourist trail and had a "local restaurant" feel to it. At first we were the second couple in the restaurant but by the end of the meal, people were queuing at the bar to get a table! The menu has a... More

We sat at one of the tables and ordered a glass of wine each and some ham to indulge ourselves. Apparently that was not enough size of an order to deserve a table and we had to move to the counter. We were asked to do so in a rather politeless way. Then the owner brought the bill and he... More
