When in Pamplona, go to Gaucho to taste some good, well elaborated culinary tapas! Foie is very good and also the poached egg with porcini mushroom sauce in a small glass! The inconvenience is that it is always too crowded to enjoy and taste the food and the service is not the nicest!

Ten friends doing the Camino ate at Gaucho Bar , 3 that I know of suffered from food poisoning the following days, This had a severe effect on there walking the rest of the Camino. If you are visiting Pamplona avoid Gaucho.

We had a lovely evening in Gauchos but it did nt end well. Our group of friends ate tapas here on Sunday last at various stages of the evening. One of the tapas i ate seemed under cooked so i left the rest of it.That night 3 of 10 of us became quite ill. I am only today feeling better. The... More

Visited my son who is in the university of Navarre and he took me to Gauchos because on his student budget he had previously just walked by this place :-) Wanted to order a Gin tonic thinking that for a higher end bar i could get something special, but the bar tenders looked to busy to be able to do... It is a place just on the edge of the main city square and is similar to many other bars near the Estafeta street. Pintxos are definitely worth a go: some innovative mixtures. Foie gras was as advertised: the best. Try those pintxos that look weirdest: they are the best. Or better yet: ask for 4 best ones they have... More

Don't miss the opportunity to eat here. The pintxos are excellent and well priced. The foie is not to be missed - simply prepared but delicious. All the other pintxos we tried were also very good and rivaled the quality of the best in Donostia. We ate here every day. Don't be put off by the crowds at the bar.... More

What a wonderful experience and wonderful Pincho's (Tapas). This bustling bar with piles of quality food lined across the bar had a great feel to it. We ate fish, peppers and potatoe dishes and drank great Crianza wines. Not expensive. At peak times its packed and spilling onto the street. Just off the main square in Old Pamplona its worth... We arrived after a day walking the Camino from Zubiri so we were ready for a drink and a snack. The beer was good and the tapas was superb. The outdoor section is sitting on stools using wine barrels as a table. You can see the street life but it's a shame about the omnipresent cigarette smoke.

You get lots and great tapas at in many bars. The Gaucho makes a big difference due to its combination of ingrediences and presentation. Excellent food freshly prepared, enjoy.
