Wednesday night 2 for 1

My wife and I were recommended this restaurant by our relations. We chose the Wednsday night offer as it was priced at €26 for the 2 of us. The price is for a 3 course meal and includes a bottle of wine. The restaurant is in a modern hotel and is decorated in a contemporary style and overlooks... read more

The starters of pumpkin soup served in a coconut shell were not seasoned and served with unnecessary 'foam'. forget the foam and focus on the flavour, my wife struggled and my son flatly refused to eat it. My scallops, again with foam were watery and flavourless, I thought they must have been frozen as the centre was so watery, the... More

We hadn't been here for a few years & decided to give it a try again. We were served by a lovely lady who may have been the manager, we weren't sure. She looked after us very well & was cheerful & friendly too. Now to the food - our starters of scallops, well cooked, but lacked flavour, we had... More

Excellent "Amuse Bouche" of Gazpacho. Rest of meal poor. Paella was rice with seafood in a sauce. No taste of any saffron strands. By far the worst Paella we have ever had. Our friend had duck which had not been properly seared and was very fatty. Also served very rare rather than pink. She was not asked how she'd like... More

Had an enjoyable night here. They have a number of outdoor tables which you can request (although not guaranteed). The menu has a number of interesting dishes. Amuse Bouches were a nice touch (beetroot gazpacho). Starters were good although the waitress misrecorded our order and brought a different lobster dish instead of lobster bisque. Per the chef 'this happens all... More

If you book the half board option the food choices are just as good as the a la carte and are actually from the same menu

We arrived fairly late at the Hotel and to save time we stayed in. The portions were quite small and everything was overpriced. The food tasted fine but there just was not enough of it. So if you have plenty of money and want something light to eat then this is for you.

Expectations for Christmas lunch are always high, and the Amapola exceeded all of ours. Wonderful Spanish style starters, including crayfish, crab bisque, cold meats etc. The main course was a Spanish version of roast turkey, but all very delicious. A wonderful Spanish singer created a great atmosphere and three hours after lunch started, no one wanted to leave. Thank you... More

We have dined in this restaurant many times over the years, but on this occasion it was a bigdisappointment. We had been told that the standard had fallen and for a restaurant in a supposedly 5* Hotel, the standard was certainly below what I would expect. On top of this it was extraordinarily expensive. Two starters, two maincourses and only... More
