i went in los galayos in Madrid some years ago and it was an interesting experience. There i ate some spanish tipical food cocked in a fantastic way. I drunk a fantastic magnum of "tinto" with a fantastic flavour. anyway i remember something that trumped all the foods : anchovies in the salt !

With my wife, at Plaza Mayor in Madrid, had dinner at this old restaurant (since 1894) on the 24th October. The suckling pig and the garlic prawns were superb ! Bread & the courtesy potato salad were delicious. The atmosphere at Plaza Mayor, with plenty of life & music topped a lovely evening. With a bottle of wine it came... More

I visited this famous restaurant for dinner and was really disappointed. Salad was mediocre, Paelha was very bad, and the wine waiter recommended was disgusting. But expensive though! Service was not too pleasant but okay. Definately, it is not the place for a good dinner in Madrid.

We went with friends for a 3 night stay to Madrid and overall we found the food excellent and great value. Here though neither was the case. Over priced, average quality and indifferent service. One waiter was rude and after being prompted by a young women (seemed more senior) who was the only good thing about the place, actually apologised... More

This is a large restaurant with both outdoor and indoor seating, located in Plaza Mayor. On arriving to this place we found that the primary concern of the staff was to know the name of our hotel, presumably because of some kick-back arrangement. Our first waiter was extremely pushy, returning every two minutes to get our order, when we clearly... More

first nite in Madrid went on a wine & tapas tour which is how we found this place. Three days later while out & about decided to try to try it for lunch. The outside seating had 3 tables of customers in various stages of their meal. The person who seated knew we didn't speak Spanish and he showed us... More

Ate here with a group of business associates on the recommendation of our hotel concierge. Some in the party wanted to eat earlier than 9 PM so that limited our options. Ordered starters, one plate of each, ended up with two plates of each and charged for it. Language differences, I guess. A little bit of a tourist restaurant. Food... More
