More

Great cooking, and selection of Spanish meals. Ham, fish, everything you want, Spanish style. Make sure you reserve - many local people like it.

This place is really hyped up so we went in with high expectations. The service was poor - it would take about 20 minutes for them to bring you a glass of water. We never received a refill on our coffee and we waited more than half an hour between our first and second dishes. The food itself was nothing... More

I went here with friends for brunch on Sunday. The ambiance and decor were very relaxed, and cool, and we had a booth right next to the window. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The menu was set and they were very clear that this could not be shared by two people or altered in anyway,at 25 Euros a... More

Found this great restaurant for Sunday brunch in Madrid to satisfy our cravings for eggs and pancakes. Only a set menu brunch offered on a Sunday, but good choice of options and really nice touches in the menu. Staff were lovely too. Highly recommend

Poor service, poor food selection, mediocre quality, noisy and personnel not kind. We tried a "risotto with lobster" that was tasteless and overcooked, and also tapas offered as appetisers were poor. We asked for three different bottles of wine and they were all sold so we have been forced to buy the only remaining white wine (the cheapest and honestly... More

Visited Café Oliver for Brunch on Sunday – I was impressed with the pastries and fresh bread – delicious! Fresh juice and coffee were also good! You then get a choice of eggs; you can have them scrambled, fried or eggs Benedict! Now, I don´t like eggs you see, the waiter said I could not have anything else – this... More

This restaurant is just off the Tourist Area but close to Chueca metro, and well worth the visit. Staff very friendly and very good food. My advice is that if you wish to enjoy an evening diner here, try it out by going first for a Menu del Dia. This will enable to sample the food, service and atmosphere at a... More

Recently visited Cafe Oliver. Superb truffle buratta, also really enjoyed the avocado and salmon tartar as well. The portions come quite large but the dishes are ideal for sharing between people. I would really recommend to anyone who is looking for a good meal in Madrid.

Staying in Chueca

Neighborhood Profile
Chueca
Chueca is the hip, gay neighborhood of Madrid where many of the streets are narrow and intimate, but where the hustle and bustle and the eclectic storefronts and people give it a distinctly urban feel. The main thoroughfare is Calle Hortaleza and the main square is Plaza Chueca, completely filled with terraza tables serving copas (mixed drinks) during summer. A mixture of trendy and grungy, some of the adult businesses here are explicitly racy in their signage. From the rainbow flags to the signs above the entrances of its many funky bars, to the date spot restaurants, Chueca is a vibrant and colorful place. It's always interesting to explore the different corners of Chueca by day, and by night, the area becomes a major nightlife destination when the clubs open their doors.
